For those that think releasing Owens will make Dallas a better team...

The 49ers have won 25 total games in the five seasons since they got rid of Owens.

For anyone who thinks Dallas will be better off without him, look at San Francisco.

They have become a complete mess.

Meanwhile the Eagles just kicked the ever loving crap out of TOs Cowboys.

I'm really not sure anyone could reach any further to try and make a point.

Based on that logic, since TO is now a free agent, San Francisco should sign him immediately and make their Super Bowl plans.

I'm really curious to see how Benjamin Russell High School has performed as well.

I'm sure the 49ers failure is all because they released TO. Nothing to do with a miss drafting a top QB which usually sets a franchise back.

TO doesn't care if we win...he only cares about his own stats and performance.

He is gone and forum crying is not going to bring him back.

And just for the record ..

The 49ers downfall did not start with the release of TO, it started with Carmen Policy and their salary cap problems. Combine that with aging stars that retired or were released along with coaching changes, etc. and that started the downward trend. You also factor in bad drafting as well.

I would say the main reason for their crappy play the past few seasons is because they haven't had a quarterback, not because TO left.

So I think what you meant to say is "the 49ers have won 25 total games in the five seasons since they got rid of Garcia."

Not really a legit arguement, however you're on track with Dallas become a much worse team without Terrell Owens.

Then its probably a good thing that this team wasn't even all that good in the first place. Can't even get into the playoffs and when they do, they piss it away.

I always wondered how the bookies in vegas set the betting line. What your saying is they just look at what the Niners have done.....................BRILLIANT !

how long did it take philly to bounce back, they sure lit things up right after T.O. was gone right?

Actually the Cowboys have won more games than the Beagles ( 31 - 27 ) since T.O. was signed. Both won the division once and the difference is that the Beagles have been more successful in the playoffs.

But, it took a complete collapse of the Cowboys ( and Tampa ) for the Beagles to make the playoffs last year. To their credit, once they caught that raft going down river, they rode it all the way 'til it could go no more.

we went 9-7 this last year...I think we can do that without T.O.

At least let me get a couple cups of coffee and a few cigs in me before I read this.

You mean the Cowboys team that featured TO, right?

So by your reasoning, I guess, TO helped the Cowboys win more games than the Eagles, but had absolutely no part in the collapse of the Cowboys which allowed the Eagles to get into the playoffs.

Got it.

I think releasing Owens makes the Cowboys a better team.

Terrell Owens can walk on water.

Tim Tebow's not mad at him, though.

Tim Tebow can create water out of thin air.

What Jerry Jones & Co. are banking on is that by subtracting Terrell Owens from the equation, the entire offense will play more as an unit all season long instead of sporadically. Certainly, this will remove the big play potential of Owens, but could insure the return of solid, fundamental, four quarters per game, football to Dallas, Texas.

It's a unique concept which EA Sports has continually attempted to integrate into their Madden NFL Football video game over the years with only modest success. However, they remain hopeful that one day, some day, they will eventually succeed; and on that day, a new generation of [strike]NFL fans[/strike] gamers will come to know this basic concept as well. For, if it is in the game...

...it's in the game.

Tim Tebow says, "Amen".

The 49'ers where on the decline even before they let him go
