For anyone who thinks Dallas will be better off without him, look at San Francisco.

They have become a complete mess.

And just for the record ..

The 49ers downfall did not start with the release of TO, it started with Carmen Policy and their salary cap problems. Combine that with aging stars that retired or were released along with coaching changes, etc. and that started the downward trend. You also factor in bad drafting as well.

Totally agree. Dallas has the tallent, period to win now. SF did not. We have plenty of weapons without TO. Colin made a great point yesterday. There is only 1 ball. Spread it around, and committ to the run with a healthy MB3 AND F JONES.

You have to credit the OP with a creative (if completely absurd) logic.

I checked a map and a roster. We are not San Francisco of 2004 through 2008. Just thought I'd let you know that. We will win 25 games in a combined 2 years counting post season.

And whose the 49ers QB during this 5 year situation? Whose their other WRs? Whose their playmakers on defense that have been there for 5 years?

Yeah this stretch, because you're upset over the loss of Owens, is an epic fail.

I was thinking about that as well. But they were becoming a complete mess before they traded him. Plus, while I think he's still a great WR, he was clearly better back then. The Niners failed afterward because both sides of the ball were pretty bad and then when they hired Nolan they were stuck with a crappy QB draft class and chose Alex Smith, a move I think 90% of the teams would've made if they were in the Niners' position.

The Eagles are not nearly as good as they were, especially with Owens. But they've aged quite a bit and a big part of their success earlier on was their competition consisted of the Campo led Cowboys, the Spurrier led Skins and the Fassel led G-Men.

I think the team took a big step back with the Owens release, but I don't think he has had as big of an impact on his past teams as the win-loss numbers show. There's other reasons why those teams have had lesser wins over the past few years.

Hey do the math!

:whip:

25 wins in 2 years > 25 wins in 5 years

Commanders fans should know this. I'm disappointed in ya.

:wink2:

Which will still be more wins in the regular season, and the same amount of playoff wins, as the Skins will see in the next 3 years. :p

I don't think TO was responsible for the Cowboys not going anywhere in the playoffs. Until the QB can control turnovers (there were ALOT...INTs and fumbles), and there is a defense on the field that can paly consistently...we aren't gonna sniff the playoffs. I guess it will be the Jason Witten show this season, because after him...there is a huge dropoff. Please spare the Roy Williams is a #1 replies because he has 1 (one) season of 1000 yds that I recall from a passing team. Not saying he isnt a good WR, he's just not got the deep speed and if we're counting on jump ball receptions, get ready for a record INT year for Romo.

Let's just hope the games we're winning now haven't been due to TO putting us "over the top" so to say.

People like to think we'll only get better from here, but literally what if he's the simple reason why we've been so good since he's gotten here?

And yea, we have been good- we're talking about more games won in a 3 year span for this organization, then what it's done in any 3 year span in a long time.

Let's just hope that doesn't disappear.

And the difference between us and the 49ers when they lost TO is, they weren't playing up to any sort of potential, they were simply put, starting to sink already before that happen. Though one could argue that TO was part of the reason they stayed afloat as long as they did.

Dallas is young and talented though so you can't really compare them.

TO was the piece that was supposed to put us over the top but dont act like this team doesn't have talent everywhere.

What's even better are the people who start these types of threads and then never return to defend their position or assumptions.

That's what's really hilarious cause it almost seems as if the people know they're going to be proven wrong, more than once, before they even post this stuff so they don't comeback to man up about it.
