Excellent point.......my guess, MM will want a guy in the room with extensive WCO experience.People are forgetting that Cooper Rush's success is exclusively due to knowing Kellen Moore's system inside/out. Kellen needs a backup QB in LA that knows his system. Makes no sense for Cooper Rush to want to stay in Dallas whatsoever.
Its the same offense. No reason to not resign cooper rush unless someone throws a lot of money at him.Since Cooper Rush was purely a Kellen Moore creation and would make much more sense for him to follow Kellen to the Chargers, who do you think will be the backup QB next season? I know nothing about Will Grier or if he is a McCarthy pet project. Is there any QB out there you would want that is familiar with the incoming BS (hint our new OC) system?
An important question since Dak's track record suggests that whoever the backup QB is will start a few games for us next season.

The Cowboys should draft a QB in the first or second round and work on developing him and pushing Dak to not get complacent. We need a reliable Starter and backup and if Dak chokes again we need a viable option.
I like the plan but Dak's contract keeps him very comfortable.
hows that possible when most college teams run spread or version oif it nowadays and if not a traditional Pro-style offense, but WCO based would be tough to find now.. I believe MM has a WCO background that can be adapted to adapt to his current payers. this won't be 80/90s WCO type of offense.Excellent point.......my guess, MM will want a guy in the room with extensive WCO experience.
There is no threat from Rush except in your head. Zero. If you knew how mediocre Rush really is you would understand how silly that is. He's barely got the arm strength for a backup.Yeah lets just give the Chargers Rush, because he was a "Moore Creation" despite that he did pretty good for a backup. Better to go with the unknown than to keep someone who was successful at the position this season... This has nothing to do with some of the Daksters feeling threatened by Rush for some reason...
Blue.....I'm talking about a backup QB for Dak whose familiar/experienced in WCO.hows that possible when most college teams run spread or version oif it nowadays and if not a traditional Pro-style offense, but WCO based would be tough to find now.. I think fans are overthinking how much the offense will change but hopefully its simply recommit to run game and not a played out run right, middle, or wide type run but schemed run game with the entire team involved not just Rbs but payers like Turpin, Pollard, rbs, wrs, and TEs..Ie more screens ,motion ,and misdirection to get the run game moving when a team is trying to stop it.
then find the plays dak and this WR group like and run, more of that and less of the stop routes etc but a huge overhaul , Im not expecting that, given shotenhiemer knows the current offense but also has been in WCO type. an integrating with finding what best to run and lastly the in-game play calling knowledge of MM will be what makes this better in theory. hes done it before and highly successful at doing so,
If he is there I would wager we will take him.Max Duggan
I don't watch college, but since our QB situation is what it is now, I'm going to probably pay more attention. I mean nobody really know what Jerry means by drafting a QB, meaning what round is he referring too.Who are the decent mid to late round QB’s that might have something with some
Development. I haven’t been following college ball the last couple years.
