In many jurisdictions there is no duty to retreat from an aggressor. In this case, it is entirely possible that she would be determined to be the aggressor.

You really don't know if he over reacted or not.

With the history he has for trouble and knowing what another incident could mean to his football career I would say he over reacted. He slapped a woman for throwing a beer on him. When you're in his position you just can't do that. He's been given several chances to clean up his act and he put himself in another situation where his temper got the better of him again.

Even if nothing comes of this legally it might be just enough for the Bengals to part ways with him. Unlikely any other team will touch him he's pushing 30 and only had one pick with the Bengals in 3 years. He can't be trusted to stay out of trouble. He lulls you to sleep for awhile and here we go again.

He is lucky his friend was there to pull him away otherwise this would be much worse. He is trash and bad news. It was not self-defense.

Seriously? I watched the video. It was a clear over reaction on his part. She is no saint, either. She should have charges dropped on her as well, but he didn't have to hit her like that.

Yeah, but what if it was acid? He probably thought it was acid, and so he had no choice but to deck her, hard, and maybe throw his career away.

I have to admit, I don't feel too bad for the drunk girl in this case. But if the question is about Pacman, he's still abusive, and he still hasn't learned. His quality play this season probably bought him another transgression, unfortunately, but this is just a bad guy. He'll cross the line again something this season or next, and that will probably be it for him as far as professional football goes.

One can only hope.

As far as I'm concerned there are functions in life that one has to earn the right to be a part of. This dude hasn't earned the right to have passed thru grammar school.

What really gets me...... is that he gets chance after chance after chance. Shame on the next guy who gives him another. He's not tee-peeing houses or pissin' in the park. He's a threat to others.

How he's managed to stay out of prison has got to be the 8th wonder of the world.

What was the relationship between the two? What was the conversation about and how was it leading up to the altercation? How hard was the bottle hit?

The frame rate of the video is very slow. Just because it does not look fast does not necessarily mean that it was a soft hit. Its a sequence of stills.

Now I understand that I sound like I am playing defense attorney and to a certain extent but I am just trying to demonstrate that it is not a sure thing.

This guy will be in prison two years after he retires, tops.

If he doesn't end up shot or stabbed to death.

He's an abusive jerk. And I don't trust his version of the story as far as I could throw that violent little munchkin in the first place.

Yes, we have found common ground. I agree 100%. He is a thug.

My only question is he hitting her or knocking the beer out of her hand?

Why former Cowboy and not former Titan? Or Bengal?

I was thinking the same thing. He was barely a Cowboy for any length of time. Jones gave him a second chance and he blew it.

If it was acid, with tremendous burning sensation and immediate ensuing pain, last thing I want to do is trying to punch some one. The first and foremost thing I'd be doing is trying to get away from the source of burning and pain and find water or some sort of first aid.
