THOSE BASS TURDS!!!!!!!

Seriously though, our cheerleaders deserve much better pay, for all the hard work they do, both on and off the field. It's not like the organization can't afford to give them $20/hr.

I don't disagree, but at the end of the day, if the girl accepts the job knowing what the pay is, how is she damaged by getting paid the agreed amount? If they legally owe her some unpaid overtime, that's a different matter, but as for the base pay, it is what it is and she accepted it.

As for the male mascot, it's a different job, therefore the idea of lower pay for the same work doesn't apply. Now, I'm not saying the mascot job should pay more, and definitely not saying it should pay that much more, but there is no requirement that a business pay people who fill different roles the same.

Did she not know her rate of pay when she signed up?
This is where I end up on the issue. It's pretty well known that the cheerleaders don't make squat, work their butts off (luckily not clear off) and have a bunch of extra obligations. If you don't want that life, do something else. It's not like cheerleading is a career field.

Yeah, it's always seemed strange to me to agree to a rate of pay and then complain about the rate of pay you agreed to.

can u say the cheerleaders asked for it and deserves to get whatever they asked for, sure you can.
is it a bad look for the organization, i think so.
are they even in violation of minimum wage laws, could very well be.

"Nowadays, NFL cheerleaders earn somewhere between $75 to $150 per game, and might make as much as $50 an hour for special corporate appearances."

It's a bad look for an organization to expect you to do what was known before you tried out? I don't agree with this at all

the team makes over $500 million per year.
there are 45 cheerleaders.
if you pay them $20k per year, that is $900k
if you squeeze them to a few k per year, you get the # down to $200k or so.
but u run the risk of bad press and actually being accused of being below the minimum wage.
turns out there are lawsuits over this and many teams keep cheerleader pay a big secret.
just seems like a few old rich guys bullying some young gals.
that is a bad look to me.

i suspect they may be paying below minimum if you count all the hours, nevermind overtime

A lot of the cheerleaders are sub-contractors. They were promised to make so much, then didn't. That said, some organizations have nothing to do with the cheerleaders salaries, while others, the cheerleaders are on their payroll.

It's grueling work outs to even make the squad. It's not a career option for these girls, but rather a dream. These girls do have full time jobs. They only last about 3 years tops because of so many girls trying out each year. Younger ones will always beat out the older ones. Trust me on this.;)

i just think it is bad public relations.
enough for them to hide it.
with the bad pr and the legal liability, it just seems irrational to me.

The entire NFL is corrupt Putty. It's ugly face has surfaced yet once again. I'm still waiting for Goodell's dirty laundry to surface as well. And it will.

Not having cheerleaders is one thing the Giants got right, I think it's silly at pro sports.

If you're going to have them though, at least pay them minimum wage, good grief.

Chaz Green's going to make almost 3 million in 4 years, throw the girls some of his cash.
