I wouldn't expect the glass ceiling to be so low considering Charlotte Jones is in charge of it....

the team makes over $500 million per year.
there are 45 cheerleaders.
if you pay them $20k per year, that is $900k
if you squeeze them to a few k per year, you get the # down to $200k or so.
but u run the risk of bad press and actually being accused of being below the minimum wage.
turns out there are lawsuits over this and many teams keep cheerleader pay a big secret.
just seems like a few old rich guys bullying some young gals.
that is a bad look to me.
If it’s such a travesty then they should choose not to participate, it’s pretty simple. There is no right to be a cheerleader and make a certain wage (especially if they are contracted, there really is no excuse to complain)

A lot of the cheerleaders are sub-contractors. They were promised to make so much, then didn't. That said, some organizations have nothing to do with the cheerleaders salaries, while others, the cheerleaders are on their payroll.

It's grueling work outs to even make the squad. It's not a career option for these girls, but rather a dream. These girls do have full time jobs. They only last about 3 years tops because of so many girls trying out each year. Younger ones will always beat out the older ones. Trust me on this.;)
I don’t doubt your info on the matter. And it sounds like a pretty crappy setup if you ask me. Crappy enough folks shouldn’t waste their time doing it. That’s what would force the wages and working conditions to improve.

it is not whether the girls were wrong to expect more.
it is just stupid to subject the brand to bad pr and litigation risks.

Well, that news made all the girlfriends and wives of the oglers happy. "Well, Goober, hope you know those girls your tongue is hanging out for and drooling on your flip flops over are working below the poverty level and that idiot in that stupid plastic head is making more than they are. Maybe you should lust over him?"

If they're going into that for the money, they need to turn to stripping, better pay and they don't have to visit sick kids in hospitals. Just sick men at work.

Besides that, don't you know that all cheerleaders either grow up to be strippers or 40 year old divorced apartment managers? Why take the chance? Start stripping now.

Supply and demand for the DCC. There are a lot more women trying out for the slots than there are positions. If the job pays crap and the benefits aren't worth it then the women would stop auditioning for the part of a cheerleader, and eventually the DCC would have to change their way of doing business. There are many jobs I would love to do but the pay is horrible so I don't apply. What's so hard about that concept?
