Explain how turning a nonviolent offender into a violent criminal helps people outside of bars. That is the type of thing that prison accomplishes.

Nice to see your myopic tendencies though.
You're now assigning qualities to all offender pre incarceration that makes the argument a non sequitur. Assuming all offender are "non violent" is ridiculous, just as assuming those same offenders will be a violent criminal upon release is ridiculous. You are using blanket statements that don't fit all situations. Prisons isolate bad people from good and allows those that are redeemable time to correct themselves.

There are stories about guys who suffer from CTE just from playing high school football. Running back is the one position where smaller guys get hit by bigger guys on a repeated basis - often multiple times on one play. Many RB lead with their head. It's not a stretch.

This isn't CTE. This is severe mental health issues.

Bipolarity, schizophrenia, psychosis....he shows signs of it all.

The guy has 5 cases pending against him right now alone.

Is that your professional, medical opinion?

It's a heckuva lot more professional and medical than just throwing CTE at a guy who's played a handful of downs in pro football.

Occam's razor says he's just a horrible person.

He might be just a bad dude - not so sure about that based on people who knew him growing up. He may have other psychological issues. He also could have CTE. It's not like he doesn't have at least some of the symptoms.

I never made that assumption. I said that it made nonviolent offenders violent. I did not speak on other types.

Nice strawman.

Randle is a sad case. The man actually demonstrated some abilities on the field. While not an elite talent like Zeke, he was definitely good enough to be a backup. He just couldn't stop doing dumb things off the field. If he weren't such a bonehead, he absolutely could have an NFL career.

Are you just going to spout off assertions or do you have some scientific study that supports them?

Frankly most of the studies are about what to do about the recidivism issue as opposed to asking whether or there is one.

The incarceration rate has skyrocketed since Nixon and overall crime rates have remained steady. Violent crimes spiked over Nixon and Reagan's administrations attributed to the drug war.

Private prisons are a blight and the status quo is failing.

This data doesn't address your assertions about prisons turning non violent offenders into violent criminals.

That is because you did not bother to look.

The US correctional system is flawed. Prisons breed violence, as studies show that inmates tend to leave prison with more violent attitudes than they entered with.

Search non-violent around page 88 and the author goes in depth as to how it affects them specifically.

So I was suppose to sort through 87 pages before I get to something relevant? Gee, thanks for making your points so easy to decipher.

Search function is tough for you I guess. Now we have established that you are indeed short sighted and only interested if it affects you directly, we can move on.

You had me at "we can move on".

We've established that prisons make people more likely to be professional criminals and violent. We have established you don't care because you think none of that affects you in your neighborhood.

The US prison system will not help Randle.

You have resorted to smilies and parroting me and cannot move on apparently.
