Putting bad people with more bad people doesn't help anyone.
Sure it does. Depends on if your goal is punishment or rehabilitation. Putting bad people with other bad people helps the good people not have to deal with the bad people. I'm glad all those bad people in with all those other bad people are where they are and I don't have to deal with them but of course, I'm sure your welcome sign is very legible for your neighborhood because you wouldn't want to be a hypocrite, would you?

Nice strawman. All your post tells me is that you lack imagination.

For example, I think Randle has a mental illness that needs treatment he will not get in prison.

Oh good. If I lack imagination then perhaps this crime free existence I'm experiencing in my neighborhood is real and not imaginary. Putting bad people behind bars with other bad people works.

You cannot keep them in jail forever. The rate of recidivism is worse for people that go to jail as opposed to people that never get caught. There is no registry for most felons so good luck keeping them out of your neighborhood.

Conflating violence with turpitude with addiction and putting them all together is stupid. Meanwhile we have to pay for it.

Not saying they aren't in my neighborhood but they aren't committing crimes so, mission accomplished.

Yes Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair, all I care about is my crime free neighborhood and not the bad folks behind bars with the other bad folks.

You said that there was no crime in your locale. I was talking about macro stats ie how it affects everyone.

Nice strawman though. This is boring. You cannot seem to keep up and think I think like you do.

Oh yes, the bigger picture. Bad people put behind bars with other bad people helps no one... except the good people outside the bars and walls.

Explain how turning a nonviolent offender into a violent criminal helps people outside of bars. That is the type of thing that prison accomplishes.

Nice to see your myopic tendencies though.

I wouldn't think so at this point. It's much more likely he suffers from a psychological disorder. He's of the age these issues reach their apex (late 20s).
Certainly a possibility. But he has exhibited some of the signs of CTE. Emotional instability. Impulsive behavior, for instance.
