I watched a good number of Detroit Lions games last season. They proactively spread the ball around in that offense. Tight ends behind Sam LaPorta were getting respectable receiving opportunities whenever they hit the field.

This is an excellent second chance for Sean McKeon to show what he is capable of--albeit in a limited capacity. I almost always dislike losing a player to another team but a player's career is his own. Hopefully, he makes the best out of a fresh start.
They just spent some change on Brock Wright. Seems like he’s going to another tough situation.

McKeon would find it tough regardless, coming from a non-starting situation, and going to a new team as a non-starter. I have seen more of Wright in gametime situations than McKeon.

Overall for me, it has been a small sample observation size for both. The Lions did the right thing. Securing Wright was a smart move. I doubt it is enough for them to retain him over a better depth candidate.

Will McKeon remake himself into a candidate more valuable than Wright? That is the question only McKeon can answer by exceling with this new opportunity.

I would’ve just drafted a tight end then give that deal to a backup but Lions got a lot of guys on rookie deals so I guess they have the money to burn.

Lions extended a three-year veteran with: 1) experience and decent production within the system, 2) minimal contract for 3-years, $12 million, and 3) a small dead cap hit if things do not work out. They could go the rookie route and start fresh but why mess up proven quality depth when you are arguably close for a Super Bowl bid--especially when the money is not that different between a veteran and an incoming rookie?

The Lions and the Cowboys are close to the same odds.

Isn't it a fact? Check the odds.
You mentioned it. You check the odds. While we are discussing it, why are odds so important to you? Perhaps it is a fact oddsmakers have given Dallas and Detroit even odds. Laying odds is what they do. Winning and losing games is what sports teams and individual sports athletes do.

I tell you what. I will not look for Dallas and Detroit's odds for 2024. You seem to imply knowing what they are already. Be kind and post them here for the entire membership to digess.

Instead, I will research what Dallas and NFL teams' odds were for 2021. 2022. 2023. I will post those odds instead. Hopefully, some article contains the info to make my search less tedious. And I shall post actual final season results as an actual bonus on how well oddsmakers have actually gotten their odds right in the very recent past.

That does interest me. Check back later with you, Rambo. This is Colonel Sam Trautman. I'm out.

How about sportsoddshistory.com and pro-football-reference.com?

Dallas and Detroit's previous odds and final season results were highlighted with you in mind. When time came to shove, Detroit did more with their odds in one year than Dallas did with theirs in three years.

Of course, all this data is irrelevant but you broached the subject. Now, I wasted a ton of my time today for zero reason. However, some time was put it. I see that you know Dallas and Detroit's for 2024 but have not posted them? Why not? It should take you one minute at the most with Google, right?

Seemed like our coaching staff always liked him.
Guess they just wanted to go younger as I assume he signed for minimum with little guarantees

It's funny. Doom and gloom here and everything is bright for Detroit.
You had an opportunity to post Dallas and Detroit's odds in less time than it took you to post the deflection above.

It's interesting. Who do you think has a better chance at making the playoffs Detroit or Dallas? I personally think both of them will. How about you? I saw some interesting percentage numbers that came out after the schedule. I'm sorry that I forgot where it was. I'll look for it.

Post the Dallas and Detroit odds. Afterwards, I will answer your questions. You broached the sub-topic. You reciprocate. That is how conversation works.

Oh screw it. I'm sorry I brought it up. They both are around 13 to 1. Both are 10.5 wins on the season.

Ferguson plus the 2nd rounder last yr and Hendershot . Stephens would make a nice addition to the practice squad plus the UDFA this yr . How many does this team need ?
