Played the game like we want every player to do it....balls to the wall on every play. Sad thing is, playing that way makes for a short career and a life filled with pain. I am glad they are doing more for players after their careers are over, but it isn't enough. If you make it that far, hold out for every penny you can because in many cases you are sacrificing your future for the game.

It’s interesting you picked that out to argue semantics over a man’s death. Not the classiest move, imo.

But if you insist on an answer, yes, he has recorded psych evaluations in his past and “has experienced mental-health issues, police-related incidents and an unstable living environment” since his retirement from the NFL. That, on top of Dez Bryant’s voiced concerns over MBIII’s health and well-being.

That’s all I’m going to say about it. Such a tragic story.

I have two family members with mental illness, I just wanted to know if you knew this for a fact or just putting it out there. No need to get all hurt in the feelings....jeez!

I am not surprised especially after seeing the story a few years ago where he ran shoulder down into a car parked in the street and left a good amount of damage on it.

I remember seeing him after a game in 2007. He was one of the players nice enough to come over and sign autographs. The crowd went berserk with a loud and long chant of MB3! MB3!. You should've seen that grown man blush. I don't think he uttered a word (he was so shy), but he signed as many autographs as he could. He scored 2 touchdowns that day in a late comeback in Detroit. So glad I was there to witness it.

RIP Marion Barber. Thanks for the memories.

RIP Marion. This is A tough one here to lose, he truly was a Barbarian during that 4 year stretch with us. One of the best runs ever was vs the Patriots where he bounced off of multiple tackles even in the end zone and created a 5 yard gain. There were stories that he was not doing that well in retirement. A quiet dude, did not like the cameras too much. I remember seeing him play the piano at TO’s Dallas condo back in the day. I’m shocked that someone could not get him some help, maybe they tried. I’m all for the team wearing a 24 sticker on their helmets this year. A big loss to Cowboys Nation and his family. May he Rest In Peace.

Very sad news. Guy was a battering ram and had some great years in Dallas. I remember seeing him play piano at his apartment. Talented guy and had a gentle side that belied his toughness on the field. Sad news. May he Rest In Peace.

Yeah he definitely did mention that pretty recently. We didnt know what that meant, but makes you wonder what else could have been done to help him.

Marion was a fun player to watch during his time here, gone too soon.

Yeah, I sorta thought he might be going through something like this. I think there needs to be more ways to help people open up in situations like that. Mental Health needs more attention.
