We need to be honest with ourselves. The Dallas Cowboys are not a serious franchise. They’re a brand. A popular brand. But a brand that lacks substance, because as we all know the North Star that guides them is a dollar sign, not a Lombardi Trophy.

I think a lot of fans have been waking up to that over the past 12 months. The last 29 years of futility haven't been an accident. Quite frankly, the older fans know that it started earlier. Switzer was just coasting off Jimmy's team. When Jerry fired a coach coming off two super bowls due to ego issues, it was all over. Jerry got desperate after a decade of futility and hired Parcells, then undermined him and got him to walk away. It was an accidental blip.

Old news....didn't change anything and won't change it now....on the other hand, BS wasn't my choice, but you never know how a first time HC will respond. Eberflus will make a quality DC and his HC experience should serve as a bit of a crutch for BS as he learns to walk in this new role. This wouldn't change anything. They would just play their games somewhere else and build another spaceship stadium.

What would mean something is a steep decline in sales, be it tickets, merchandise, concessions. That's all that speaks to Jerry. It isn't results on the field.

After the last quarter century of stubbornness, dismissiveness, and predictability I'm just surprised that any fan or member of the media is surprised by this.

Last years refusal to participate in free agency, dragging out of top money contracts and the botched McCarthy resigning attempt has solidified Jones as the worst GM in the NFL.......signing Schottenheimer just cemented this status
