just for fun, why not trade Zeke for Roquan Smith, this solve some problems.

the Zeke-Pollard debate is over, Pollard becomes a starter at a lower cost and can be given a long-term contract that would tentatively be much less than Zeke's, they save 10M for each year of contract they have with Zeke and you invest in other players, in this case, Roquan, you would have a much better defense, and you could give him a 4-year contract, and with time to think about paying Micah much more when the time comes, with the savings for Zeke would only have to invest another 10M in Roquan.

on the other hand, I don't think that Trevon Diggs has to be paid much, if he asks much better to let him go, and look for his replacement in the next Draft, Trevon wanted to play with his brother, it's better if he leaves if he asks a lot of money. this would allow him to concentrate later on paying CeeDe and later Micah what they are worth.

I think it would be more impactful to have Roquan than Zeke on the team, just imagine that defense....

There is literally zero chance the Bears are going to want to pay a TB $12 million and $10.9 million over the next two seasons.

Okay...he makes a lot of money. Who do we NOT have all because of zeke? Don't we actually have open money right now?

If you value our QB....you would thank Zeke. Watch Dak highlights and dare tell me zeke isn;t earning his keep. No...you can;t have a fullback in there, then you lose zeke's REAL function.

Cooper is gone largely because of his contract. Likely Collins was partly a cap casualty as much as anyone. Then factor in who we may have missed out on in FA if the Cowboys had more cap space. Again, we have open cap space NOW but that's because we restructured a bunch of guys and dumped Collins and Cooper in order to create that space. And that space is likely needed to roll into next year when we are currently projected to be $12 million OVER THE CAP. I am beginning to see you don't understand the machinations of how the cap works year to year.

Zeke is overpaid. He's a bad contract on a team that is cap strapped and holding the cap together by accounting tricks and dumping good players. I actually think there's a decent chance he gets cut after this season given the Cowboys can save some cap space and get out from under his contract. Or they get him to take future pay cuts.

His base salary charges over the next 5 years:

2022 - $12 million
2023 - $10 million
2023 - $10.9 million
2024 - $15.4 million
2025 - $16.6 million

LOL, that's patently absurd. There is no chance in hell Jerry is going to be wanting to hand over $15.4 million in 4 seasons. I suspect they are going to look to cut bait the first chance it makes sense cap wise, which is 2023.

Blame Jerry. Moore and MM just do as they are told.

Also. I think Zeke is going to surprise this year. Just a gut feeling and I have faith in him.

Judge me all you want but I think Zeke is going to surprise a lot of people this season.

It would surprise me at all if Zeke were to have a solid 1200-1300 yard season this year.. But he's not going to get the ball enough to really be dominant as long as Moore is calling plays. I've given up on 25 carries for 160 yards and 2 TDs .. Moore doesn't want to win that way.. Apparently neither does McCarthy.. They're the ones in charge and they are the ones who will be fired if the Air Dak or is it Air Moore? offense falls on it face again come nut cuttin time.

I'd go with Air Moore since he is the HC in waiting......more to gain.

I don't know where he's getting the Giants are going to make any noise.

The eagles on the other hand are strong in the trenches and have improved their team.

In my opinion the winner of the battle between Tyler Smith and Jordan Davis will decide the winner of the division.

I really think the Giants are going to surprise some people this year. They're perenially bad, but they've quietly stockpiled talent, and I think they landed some really great coaching / exec hires

Whether you like him or don’t. I hope he has a record year. Just to prove people wrong. He is on our team so I am sure is fans hope he does good whether you think he is over paid or over the hill. So sick of people thinking he suddenly went from a top RB to done. He had a torn tendon and unfortunately with our O-Line he was needed to block. Pollard had a injury and any other RB we had couldn’t do anything. He stood in there and played when asked to. That’s the staff that should have pulled him:

LVE is kind of easy to write off. He hasn't done much since his rookie year. Zeke, while underwhelming, is still solidly productive. And I even have an LVE jersey in my closet. It was given to me (I'd never buy merch for any sports team beyond a fitted cap) but I still have it. He just hasn't been that great, has been injured often, and has the whole chronic neck issue. Two different beasts here.

I look at my Zeke jersey the same way.

Don't get me wrong, I like Zeke, but the media guy isn't spouting anything that is outrageous.

Hope for the best, but not planning on it. I'm just a fan though, I hope the Cowboys aren't planning on it.

There is a reason why Mike T is
"former"
GM. That said, he may be right. But that doesn't mean he can't be effective at times. This is likely Zeke's last year with Dallas.

Two sides, right? Nothing irrational in saying Zeke has lost a step and career might be over. But nothing irrational saying the guy who ran the Jets and Dolphins "powerhouses" the last ten years probably isn't the best expert to count on.

I blame Moore. I blame Moore for continuing to feature Zeke.

I could be wrong, but no matter what Big Mac says on whose decision this is, I feel that these clinging on to obvious declining vet decisions are more from Jerry looking on down.

People trash Bill Parcells for trusting in dudes like Vinny Testaverde in the twilight of his career, but at least it was his team, his decision.

And again... could be wrong.... Big Mac may see potential and Zeke ready to shine again.... but god love him, Jerry is too loyal to his vets.

It's funny because everyone gives him so much credit as a businessman, but I think Jerry thinks more like a fan than a businessman when it comes to football.

Quick recap, but audio above:

- Can run between tackles, but not dynamic
- Pollard is best back
- If they decide to run offense through Zeke, Cowboys are average team at best this year, and will get beat by Eagles and Giants

I agree for the most part and besides all the penalties in the playoffs the fact Zeke stayed on the field instead of Pollard was Outrageous

No..I mean Zeke's production is all his fault.

If you blame Moore and OL.....why would you blame zeke so much that he's "irrelevant"? If he is...it's moore and O-line that made him that.

We can;t have a fearsome zeke (2016) if Moore and Oline are incompetent.
Do you babble often? This ^^^^^ is babbling.

”AA Eagles,” eh?

So Dak IS much better than Hurts after all.

You lose.

I diagree. Zeke is not yesterday's news. he is last week's news. he is falling off a cliff faster than a rock falling to earth.... hopefully this is his last year here. never should have wasted a top 5 draft pick on a RB....I mean who takes a RB over a Probowl type CB....

and there are a few people who still defend Jerry

Zeke toughed out and played on a bum knee last season, which is somewhat to his credit. I think he's likely got enough left to contribute to this offense, although exactly how much is questionable. He'll be tried and tested. How well he manages to recover from his doldrums of 2021 remains to be seen. I think it's entirely possible that another young RB, like Malik Davis, might find a way to contribute admirably to the upcoming season. :)

Tony Pollard is on tap to be used more generously than he was in the past. That prospect should be quite valuable in establishing how far this offense can go. It's far from being any hopeless task for this offense to succeed in 2022. Adding an experienced WR could go a long way toward bolstering an offense that must find a way to produce a consistent passing game. Adding a veteran WR, as depth, would make that more attainable, imho. ;)
