I would not trade down unless I could come away with a first rounder next year. Otherwise, just stay put, if you have to trade down 2 or 3 spots to pick up a 3rd or 4th, that's cool, but I'd be pushing for a next year's first.

Depending on how things fall, you never know. The strength of this draft is in that 2-4 th round range.
That is the opposite of 2009--before anyone starts trying to compare.

I'm not advocating a big trade down, but there's a real chance you could get basically the same player in the second as you could get in, say, the late 1st.
Exactly.

Assuming targets are gone, if the Cowboys would make that deal, they could address:
DE: Werner, Carradine, DaMontre, M. Hunt
OL: Watson, Pugh, Fluker, Long, Warford
S: Eric Reed, Cyprien, Elam

Depth at a cheaper discount before we reach round 3.

radical idea: LETS GET SOMEONE WHO CAN EVALUATE TALENT

Thankfully, Parcells has left the building and there's no Barbi Carpenter in this draft. Well, maybe Manti Te'o.
