Schotty wanted hire his brother and AJ Smith told him to shove it.

yeah but it is atypical for the DC of a super bowl team to 1) be told he isnt wanted and 2) take a co-LB coach job after he's been a DC for 3yrs and got all kinds of HC interviews

you guys can do the spin doctor jobs all you want, but apparently Rivera isnt quite the defensive guru some of you want to believe he is

nope...spinning is what a bunch of you are doing now in regards to this guy

he's had 8 or 9 HC interviews and got no offers...and the teams he's been DC for for 3yrs just said no thanks on anymore time

apparently he isnt that highly thought of, except of course by people on here

he got hired by Turner, who wanted him had he got the job here...and Rivera supposedly was going to hire him as OC had he got the Green Bay job last yr

translation- Rivera would be unemployed today if not for the Norv connection...he just took a huge demotion, and right now isnt even the sole LB coach on that team

something is missing with him...there's a reason he is getting passed over time and again for HC jobs and a good reason why the Bears decided to let him walk (its more than money)

Dead on......like I said.......red flags.

8-9 interviews and no job.

Bears let a "Super Bowl DC" walk.

He's now the 2nd string LB coach in SD in a scheme he has no clue about.
