News: Fox: Tony Romo arrested in Milwaukee for OWI

A lot of hypocrisy in this thread. Any one of you tip back 2-3 beers on a Sunday afternoon while watching football and forgot hamburger buns at the store, are driving to the store to pick them up.

Not saying it's right but to see the absurd high horsery here. Lol.
^ real truth being spit here.

Every weekend I go out with friends I witness tons of people that either have 3 mixed drink, 3 beers or 3 glasses of wine with dinner and drive afterwards and we all know that happens in every dinner restaurant and bars across this country

And we all know that 3 beers doesn't make you sloppy drunk but it will likely get a lot of folks to ,08

In the past ive done it many times so im just being real. As ive gotten older 2 is my absolute limit if im driving.

Police officers have a job to do and a law to enforce so I have zero beef with them busting Romo or anybody else that applies, but lets not put them in the same category of habitual offenders that are 3x the legal limit.

He screwed up and he'll face the punishments. Case closed

When he starts demolishing perfectly good mansions, I'll probable have more beef

Pretty sure it's not 50%. But if it is the case, let's all drink and drive because you're no more likely to cause an accident. Yeah, that's the ticket.
You keep missing the point just to argue.

The point"

Does it matter to the victims and families if it was drinking or texting? Speeding? Things are rarely "accidents".

Alcohol is just an easy target. Drive like you're operating a death machine, because it is. Any other driving is careless no matter what.

i honestly didnt realize there is still so much passion for Romo. Nothing wrong with it- heck, Danny White remains my all time favorite Cowboy. I guess I just didn't realize Tony Romo was still loved as much as he is. He does seem very likeable.
Not sure it's all about "passion".:oops:

For some it's about the very important "innocent until PROVEN guilty".

It matters to those the dead leave behind who know that the death didn't have to happen because someone chose to take a stupid risk they knew was wrong but did it anyway (that's why there are laws for that). Unless you believe Steve and say it's 50-50. Are you also signing on to that nonsense? Wouldn't surprise me but just checking.
It's a bit difficult to find drunk driving-related arrests, crashes and deaths. At the moment, deaths seems to be about 35%...and are in a state of decline since peaking in the late 1990s.
"In 1995, there were 17,274 alcohol-related fatalities in the United States. This number represented approximately 41.3% "

But hey...if you wanna be a stickler about the EXACT % instead of my real point...knock yourself out. You win. Happy now?

true but you are just as dead, right?
Yeah of course, I guess it’s more so for the surviving loved ones…:I would be devastated anyway to lose a loved one to an accident, but there would be so much more anger if it was due to a drunk or impaired situation

For an analyst that can successfully predict the next play on the field, his drunk arse didn't see this coming?

I'm with you Steve. Remember I have retained you for future law needs- but it has to be pro bono as I am indigent.

The reason I said the passion for Romo is because I checked the Terrion Arnold thread and the Markquese Bell thread and I didn't see the outrage about assuming guilt before their day in court. Anyone outspoken about innocent until proven guilty, it would generally suggest its regardless of the uniform they wear, the position they play or the success they've had.

You got arrogant and careless and now are whining about it
typical

Those are your words
now do you want them with Ketchup and Salt?
Yup, and I provided numbers to back up that it's probably not just 50-50. And I produced them from a data source you didn't even know you quoted. Still think the CDC is the traffic death authority over the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from which the CDC's stats came from? Lol.

Done with your buffoonery and off to debate people who seem to have a semblance of sense. Until next time, fanboi.

I appreciate the endoresment. Here's a few business cards...spread the word.

I do apologize...as I don't remember those threads.Am I fired now for incompetance? :)

QB's always get the glory sheesh.

I would definetly stick with the arbitrary percents, rather than the actual point...if I were you.

I used 50 for the sake of conversation. I didn't think the exact number was super imporatant to make my point.. Like i said, older data had 40+. Current datat is 35-ish. \

So let's say...30%. NOW...70% of fatalities are caused by careless drivers. Thank you for making my argument stronger.

Yes it does matter and I explained it to your challenged little buddy trying to help you that I'm sure you'd rather would not try to help, lol. A momentary lapse happens and can be fatal. Something a person had way more time to make the right decision is worse. Do you think it's coincidence that the law tends to come down harder on those that kill premeditated versus in a moment of passion or self-defense?

Sorry, but the much more disturbing theme in here is people downplaying driving impaired. Probably to excuse Romo or perhaps the fact they've done it as several have admitted. You could literally increase the chances of killing yourself or others and people are like, "meh."

I know you were just throwing a number out there and I bet that it wasn't the case. So I pulled numbers not accounted for. Your point is addressed above.

My former fling who I'm still friends with is an attorney. I'd always tell her she was pro something that rhymes with bono.

She thought that line was so funny, and it, uh, made her laugh a lot.

Haha

What's disturbing is "downplaying" ANY careless operation of a motor vehicle. The numbers tell us you're more likely to kill someone in that regard.

You make the perfect point. Nowadays, people seemingly only get "passionate" about principles when it affects something they're invested in. Truth is such a one that stands out most to me.

Now imagine these same circumstances but substitute Romo for Pickens. Do you think the passion to come up with other "possibilities" for Romo would hold true for Pickens?

Then go back to my original point to bdc. Make sure to have a few before you hop into the driver's seat every time.

To use a football analogy, if a football player carries the ball around like a loaf of bread, he'll probably fumble at some point. But everyone fumbles at one time or another so, "meh." How do you think that'll work out for the football player over time by tempting fate like that?

Exactly the point I made. And I'd be pissed because the impaired person had way more time to decide not to do what they did, knowing it was wrong, but did it anyway. But you needed those hamburger buns! Right.
