Found a nice YouTube of the wisconsin vs Ohio state game with all of Balls' runs in the game. It's very interesting to see how many times he follows behind Frederick

This will be a matchup we will see for the next several years and I like Fredericks chances to keep winning this battle http://http://youtu.be/vk7aLzbwBb8
Link doesn't work.

The more I watch of Frederick, the more I absolutely love this pick. The guy is a monster.

I think I'd take either Frederick or Williams over Floyd. But we got them both. An absolute coup.

PS, to those saying he can't move in space, you need to watch this video. He's making all sorts of blocks in the second level and at 4:11 he pulls and blocks two defenders.

Hankins got manhandled by Fred on the majority of the plays. Good stuff:starspin

Thanks Speed!

After reading today that the Gmen were going to use Hankins as a "run stuffer" it got me curious on this particular matchup and I was quite pleased as I am sure a lot of you are.

What I would really like to hear is Montee Ball give an honest opinion on Fred... I would it would go something like "umm did you see who I ran behind majority of the time!"

There was the quote the other day from a talent pro from another team who said something to the affect that Frederick was the best drive-blocker he had seen in the last ten years.

I initially passed it off as one of those off-handed compliments that talent pros toss around, which have some truth and a lot of exaggeration.

The more video I see of the kid the more I start to think there might not be as much exaggeration as one would initially think.

Ditto... We made out like gangbusters...:starspin

I would also like to point out the play before the 4:11 at 4:02. People talk about him being slow to the edge when pulling. This run was left but the one against Stanford the everyone criticizes him about was to the right. I see much the same issue. Look at the TE and LT to the play side and look how they are pushed into the backfield at the snap.

It's hard to get to the edge when you come from the LOS and have to loop 5 yards into the backfield to get around your teammates that are losing at the POA. Ball is 12 yards deep so he has a straight shot. Wisconsin's OL took a huge talent hit this past year and it shows.

All I know is that people that act like Warmack is all world but Frederick is a slowfooted plodder are inconsistent in their analysis.

I think that Fredrick will be the best interior lineman of the draft. Mark it down!!!

If they are right. Does Jerry get the credit? He certainly always gets the blame.

Cooper and Warmack are both going to be every bit as good or better than Iupati or Decastro - so Frederick better be a heck of a player.

Even if he isn't that good the value and need combo at 31 and you throw in Williams for good measure means this was an amazing trade and draft. As much as I rip Red and the front office every draft since 2010 has been great IMO.

It was a good tape on Frederick on maybe things to come, but in regards to Frederick vs Hankins they barely made contact against each other... 7 maybe 8 plays by my count... Frederick opened up big holes for Ball, but he didn't do it while playing against Hankins based on what I saw...

He was DOMINANT in the first half. Not as good in the 2nd, but still decent.

He's a bit too slow on his outside pulls (RB kept having to slow down so Fred could get out in front), but he was at 330+ in those videos. I think around 315 would be a good playing weight for him.

He moves well for his size.
I've always thought he had better feet than some thought.
His 40 time is terrible...and also irrelevant.

17 years of incompetence and counting. He deserves the blame.

Yes, he does get credit. I say this as someone who's been as critical of Jerry as anyone on this board.

The organization has done well on a number of picks over the past decade, and I credit Jerry for putting that organization in place. He signs the checks. He decides how everything is structured.

However, the problem isn't that Jerry doesn't find any talent. That's a strawman argument. The problem is that Jerry doesn't find enough talent for the team to be consistently competitive.
