Chicago has a ton of cap space because they have 29 free agents. It's easy to have space if you only have 20 something players under contract.
Yes, I expect Houston to re-sign with Oakland, but you never now for certain.
Cincinnati has been known to be cheap and makes some odd moves with their players. Johnson is going to want to test the market.
Greg Hardy is highly likely to get the tag or re-sign with Carolina.
The Giants have let players leave in free agency in the past that were unexpected. They might give Joseph a chance to test the market if that can't agree on value.
Keep in mind that most teams try to re-sign their priority free agents during the final year of their contract. If a player makes it to this point (January) without a new contract, there might be something going on that has kept the team from already re-signing that player.
Yes, Ware might regain his form, but it's not as if he only has 1 injury issue at age 32. The probability is not great. It's not a good risk/reward with his 12.25M salary. Restructuring pushes 11M into the future.
Injuries:
Thigh
Should/neck/stinger
Back
Both elbows
Ware has been banged up no doubt but he keeps in great shape and the surgeries are supposed to fix these right? I would be more concerned with an ACL or Rotator Cuff, etc. We shall see, I hope the cowboys make the right decision based on their medical reports instead of his past performance.
Johnson will be available but his production has declined quite a bit and he wants 50 million?
Melton is interesting but I'm not sure Garrett will go for the off the field problems along with the ACL. It may depend on Marinelli.
I think we'll talk to Joseph but at the end of the day Giants will sign him. Like you said you never know.
We have a lot of guys coming back off injury plus all the depth we picked up this year. Its a d-line heavy draft which seems like the logical avenue unless Jerry wants to go Clinton- Dix in the 1st rd.
I think they will want to see more of Wilcox and Matt Johnson, with veteran help.
