Free Agent Pass Rushers

I'm ok with that too.

I believe he ran a 4.64 at his combine and had like 35 reps.

33" arm length as well, but he's had injuries so will he hold up as a full time RDE?

He would be a good fit, but I have no idea what type of contract he will get.

I never would have guessed that the Giants would give Oliver Vernon 17M per year last season.

I would definitely be ok with cutting Tyrone Crawford and his 9M average and replacing him with Perry for 10M average.

Aren't sacks collapsing the pocket?
Not necessarily looking for sacks from a DT, just not allowing the QB to step up, which disrupts his vision and gives the DE's a path. Our Dt's were absolutely stonewalled at the LOS a large part of the time, that's not going to cut it.

I (personally) think they did better than that.

Just pull off a trade for Sheldon Richardson, and then have the entire offensive line throw him up against the wall lockers to get his attention. Then trade what ever it takes to secure the top pick in this year's draft...for Myles Garrett. Then just tell Stephen to make it work...Jerry.

The Dallas defense would evolve into a top five in the NFL.

Move Jones to CB, pair with Brown and Scandrick...and resign Carr cheaply.

Resign all current safeties that would become free agents...and then show the dogs a three legged cat.

Now, you know that Stephen will never let that happen. He and McClay are already putting together the Walmart tour.

Stephen is a chip off the old block. Jerry confronted a youthful Stephen once, nose to nose. But, alas, Jerry remembers what it takes to get over the top. Sometimes a personality that fits, pulls a team the last level up and over. Happened with Charles Haley...and Jerry remembers well.

Jerry already tried his hand at grabbing a War Daddy in that certain Mr. Hardy. Those types of acquisitions rarely work out. Yes, Mr. Haley did
work out but, that was several generations ago and few FA's in today's NFL resemble him.

It's not.

There have been reports for weeks the Giants weren't going to let JPP go (if possible).

I'm good with that actually. I'd rather they overpay him and get locked into a regrettable contract than the Cowboys.

What I would do is to get a better option at RT to line up against Pierre-Paul because today's Doug Free can't handle that task.

Dontari Poe would be a nice fit a the 1-tech but the Cowboys won't pay big money for that type of player.

Hardy worked out on the field. Marinelli wanted him to return and quoted stats on how often Hardy drew double teams which he credited for DLaw's success that season.

I feel confident the Hardy would have worked out all the way around if Jimmy was the Head Coach. That's early nineties Jimmy, not the current version.

Conversely, Haley would not have worked out with a lot of Head Coaches not named Jimmy Johnson.

The 'great leap' forward with a Jerry kick:

Calais Campbell DE
Sheldon Richardson DE
Jason Peters OT
Brandin Cooks WR

And get them all on the same page during OTA's...

Best guy out there. Cowboys can draft a TE or WR if they sign this guy. Put him at any position along the front. Sign him. He along with J.Smith put us on the road to Minnesota:

5. Calais Campbell, DI, Arizona Cardinals
The only thing keeping Campbell from being higher on this list is age, as he will enter the 2017 season north of 30 years old for the second time in his career. Campbell, though, is coming off the best season of his NFL tenure, recording 56 total QB pressures and 34 defensive stops in 2016. He maintained his strong run defense and improved as a pass-rusher. The way Arizona has deployed him, Campbell can play in any scheme, and has effectively lined up at 3-technique (the traditional pass-rushing alignment of a four-man D-line defensive tackle) more often than any other spot for the Cardinals, despite their base defensive front.

I would love Brandin Cooks but I don't see Dallas trading a draft choice for him.

You make a good point. Jimmy and Jason are entirely different head coaches...that's for sure.

I think Garrett is generally the best option for the Cowboy right now with Jerry as the owner, but one of his weak areas is dealing with problem players. He has pushed to only acquire RKG type players, but it's a limitation when you can't exert dominance over a Greg Hardy type player the way Jimmy, Parcells and those types of coaches were able to do over the years.
