Free Agent Pass Rushers

I think Garrett is generally the best option for the Cowboy right now with Jerry as the owner, but one of his weak areas is dealing with problem players. He has pushed to only acquire RKG type players, but it's a limitation when you can't exert dominance over a Greg Hardy type player the way Jimmy, Parcells and those types of coaches were able to do over the years.

Yes that is right but, you also had strong personalities and enforcers on those championship teams that have not emerged on Jason's teams.
Jimmy was always loud and proud and he had lots of voices to back him up. Garrett not so much right now. Maybe he will see some emerge if they start winning championships.

JPP is probably the best of the group and I don't see any way the Giants let him walk.

As trades go, its is going to be expensive to get a War Daddy because teams don't just let those guys walk out the door. Trade would probably have to include Romo and some high draft picks.

So that leaves us with the draft...............the cheapest and most realistic way to upgrade the pass rush although at 28 its going to be hard to find a War Daddy, those guys go in the top 5 usually.

So we may be ***** fellas, don't see too many options to upgrade the pass rush......if only Gregory could keep from getting high.

Cardinals have announced they'll franchise tag Chandler Jones if they can't reach a long term deal, so cross him off the list.

The 'great leap' forward with a Jerry kick:

Calais Campbell DE
Sheldon Richardson DE
Jason Peters OT
Brandin Cooks WR

And get them all on the same page during OTA's...
Can we also bring in Clowney and Myles Garrett for depth?

Free agency is getting that way. Teams are flush with cash (well not this one) and are locking down the top talent. Pierre-Paul is in negotiations with the Giants as we speak.

Not huge difference makers available. But when you realize that mayowa is the only one that could start on Dallas moves are needed.

And he's got his own warts and issues.

The more I look, the more I don't see any answers being available in free agency.

The Demarcus Ware reunion story starts to look more plausible all the time.

I'm not a fan of copying what the Pats do but it's true in this case. We don't need to sell the farm for a pass rusher. Second half vs gb we we're fine.

We just weren't prepared like New England always is.

I've said it before, but the Pats defense is largely the Emperor. If we got him, I'd be happy with our current players.

Yeah there are some out there right now, but none of them will probably hit the market.

Chandler won't be there, I doubt Ingram will, JJP has warts and probably won't either.

Everyone will be overpaid, problem is, we can't depend on a rookie DE to put up numbers....they almost never do.

We almost have to make a signing, while overpaying in the process.

I've resigned myself to the real possibility that the team won't. And I applaud them for that. All of the expected options out there look like questionable investments and contracts the team will likely regret.

The more I look at it, the more I think that the draft and a possible trade are much better ways to go than overpaying anyone from this free agent group.

And Stephen won't overpay, he's been very clear on that. So it seems were looking at another playoff exit as soon as we face an elite QB.

Well a trade is a possibility, hopefully at least. We do need to do something though, with Jerry speak I'm still hopeful we will.

Of course we do have to be prepared for the worse, cause I just don't see a rookie DE coming here at #28 being an instant contributor.

Teams can start tagging guys today so I imagine a few guys will be locked up soon

I have no problem using the draft. Just no one be surprised when we see a similar result next year, because I agree the odds of a #28 draft pick having massive pass rush impact next year is very low.

Jerry implied that they might if the right player was available to them.

After a 13-3 season, Jerry probably sees the Cowboys as a player or two away from the Super Bowl.

Well I hope that we can do better than Jack Crawford. He's definitely not the right player.
