Free Agent WR Brandin Cooks says Dallas doesn't do enough to help Dak Prescott

That's worthy of a thread in itself....assuming the Chiefs would of played the same defense allowing/forcing Dak to run, whether he'd take advantage/lasted a half?
Another, throw crap at the wall and see what sticks, thread.

I’m not faulting the Cowboys for not winning a SB. I’m faulting them for their approach. Daks salary cap hits have not stopped them from making moves. The guy was on a cheap rookie deal and I get Romo deal was still on the books some of those years but it’s still an excuse.
Argh, the classic Rookie deal and Romo cards. The bottom line is that Dak needed too much....indeed he needed EVERYTHING. If you just look at the three play-off loses, the 'blame' was shared with everyone, on-field and on the coaching side....REGARDLESS OF THE CONTRIBUTORY REASONS, DAK, THE PLAYER WITH THE BALL IN HIS HANDS, WAS UNABLE TO OVERCOME THE ADVERSITY.

Dak for sure would’ve won. I’d argue Kenny Pickett would’ve won with that team. Cooper Rush too.
Of course you'd say that, I doubt he'd be able to take advantage of the space that was afforded to Hurts on the ground. No, Rush wouldnt of won, again he would be able to take advantage of what the Chiefs defense were giving.

He wasn’t. Like I said above go look at those past teams…..those weren’t winners. They told you that Jason Garrettt was the guy to win a SB. Let that sink in…Jason Garrett.

I don’t know what the classic rookie deal or Romo cards are but you take advantage of your young players being in cheap salaries. It’s football 101.

Which I bet you'd contribute ;).It would actually focus on how it's not as simple as dropping one QB , in for another. A DC, facing Dak, would scheme A LOT differently as against Hurts.

I don’t think that’s why Eagles won. They had a stout offense and defense. Great on both sides of the football. Hurts played great I don’t say that to belittle what he did because he took what the defense gave him masterfully. He made some key throws against a stout defense. Also the threat of that guy Barkley was huge.

I hate when someone calls another person, trash....for something trivial like a game. I save that term for liars, cheats, murderers and those that call them trash
I agree. I don't think Dak has what it takes to elevate the team around him, but he's not trash. He's a human being that's flawed like the rest of us, but not flawed enough to be called debris.

Bemoaning 9 years ago does nothing for where we are now. Dak's never changed, he's a bus-driver who can manipulate a run first offense (who now struggles when trailing as teams dont have to cater for him scrambling, or even getting out of the pocket).
The question was, that Dak needs more, the answer is that with his $40m per contract (and a conservative GM), it was difficult.....now with a $60 per and his diminishing mobility, its neigh on impossible.

It's not about why they won, it's how Hurts managed the offense, to a level which Dak couldnt, which would of restricted the offense. The BLUEPRINT would of been used, Chiefs would of gone all out to get a lead and without Dak's legs he would of died against a cover-2 defense.

Man I hate the eagles but the trenches they built is impressive especially on defense. They are stacked at skill positions besides hurts and he has a knack for escaping and running

That’s a skill I’m unsure Dak still has with all the injuries

And their defensive secondary was a weakness and then last year was like the best in the league

So I guess that’s a reason to have hope . It can be turned around quick

I agree there are many qbs that would win with that roster

Dak’s mobility and scrambling looked fine at the beginning of last season before getting injured. Dak’s mobility was adequate during his 4th quarter comeback win at the Steelers. Let's hope he can fully recover from that torn hamstring.

9 years ago? How about a year ago your starting running back was Zeke Elliott lol. Let me guess bemoaning a year ago does nothing either lol? Stephen has lied to you.

I know this probably sucks for you to see this but in the past 9 years DAk has only had 2 years of more than a 40 million dollar salary and as you can see on the right it was only 17 percent of the cap. And his salary of 52 million is only 17 percent of the cap hit.

Look at all thos eyearsl...cap hit .3 percent of the cap lol. .4 percent...1 percent....

Stephen has lied to you about Dak's salary.

People make so much of his ability to run....its perfectly fine no he's not a scrambler but he's fast enough to keep the defense honest. They talk of him as if he runs the same 40 they run lol.

The issue is there were many years where Dak had a stacked team and failed. The organization failed. At this point I don’t think he’s the answer but I also think the FO is horrible. The reality is we have a really messed up organization from top to bottom. We’ve had SB rosters. We just don’t have leadership in place to get us over the top and to make changes when needed. That’s from a player and coaching perspective. We are also always late to the party….late to sign guys thus paying more; late firing guys like Garrett; late firing guys like McCsrthy; etc. I think Dak and the team would have benefited from competition at the position but we’ve never done that. There is a mentality that sinks into players heads when they get here and they lose “it.” Look at Micah…rookie with all that piss and vinegar dominating and then in year 2-3 you hear the talk, the quotes, etc. Guys just talk more than show up when it counts. I thought Dak had it early and then turned mini-Garrett. The organization doesn’t foster a winning it all mentality. Just my thoughts
