I think it depends. Let's go crazy and say the team makes it to the NFC Championship. Would you want to bring almost everyone back for another run? I think if we end up tapering off and going the dreaded 8-8 again we will be a lot less likely to bring everyone back.

Second, I don't think we are flush with cap space next year. According to overthecap.com, we have 136m committed to the cap with only 41 players signed and our dead money. In those numbers are the deals signed by Carr, Melton, Free, Smith and Romo. Obviously we can make room with those, some options affect future cap.

Best thing would be if Carr. Melton, Free and Romo agreed to restructure, cutting their scheduled base salaries. That way we can keep the players and gain room. None of them are worth what their salary is next year.

From free agency, we have:

RFA
Dunbar
Beasley
Leary
Little
J. Crawford
D. Weems

I would say Beasley, Leary are for sure to be tendered. Dunbar possibly and maybe Weems.

UFA
Parnell
Murray
Moore
McClain
Jones
Hayden
Harris
Durant
Clutts
Carter
Bryant
Brent
Selvie
Spencer
Spillman

What really sucks is we have drafted fairly well the last few years and now we either have to pay them or start over. In a perfect world, we would definitely be signing Murray, Moore, McClain, Jones, Harris, Carter and Bryant. If they have good seasons, would want to consider Selvie, Spencer and Durant.

Offseason is going to be one filled with interesting moves. As such, I am pretty much just going to sit back, watch the season play out and then worry about next year's team when this year's games are done.

going to be a very interesting and complicated off season. lots of big decisions to make and we can't keep them all. mcclain i think we can work something out with and we have kitchen to step in if we can't keep carter. but harris is going to be tough to keep in my opinion. someone is going to give him starter money
very tough decisions to make for sure

You only have to sign Dez from that list. Everyone else is expendable. Depends on who the team wants to keep I guess.

I would like to keep McClain but agree. Dez is the only irreplaceable player on that list.

Dez Bryant - most likely receive a contract extension after the bye week
DeMarco Murray - could see him a franchised player but also could see him get an extension unless demands to much
Rolando McClain - he will be resigned to probably a 4 year deal and reasonable, next he starts at MLB and Lee to SAM
Bruce Carter - finally starting to see the guy we thought we drafted, and see him extended but on a reasonable contract
Dwayne Harris - has to prove he is worth more than the vet minimum but could stay for that
George Selvie - with Lawrence and possibly Spencer back along with Gardner and probably two draft choices, he's gone
Doug Free - could see him staying on a reasonable contract but also a draft pick or min free agent replace him also
Henry Melton - up in the air on him but seems to be playing better each game, won't be surprised to see him stay
Cole Beasley - will get a minimum extension
Sterling Moore - probably get a 2 year maybe 3 year low contract extension
Jason Durant - probably not with us next year
Josh Brent - he will take the vet minimum to prove himself

Some of the contracts will be determined by who we go after in free agency. Almost a foregone conclusion that Suh is leaving Detroit so will be interesting to see what Jerry determines at DT. A DT line up of Suh, Crawford, Melton, T. McClain and possibly Brent would be pretty good. If Spencer plays well, he probably will be tendered a decent contract but nothing compared to what he got from us the last two years. I think the focus in the draft will be DE first and foremost.

I can see Ro Mac staying here.

Carter has found his place at Sam. Harris stays too IMO.

Dez, and Murray are tricky. Who knows how much they will both want.

Free will sign a new cap friendly contract. Melton depends on how he plays the rest of the season. Might not can afford him.

Ro McClain may also be hard to keep.

I tried to sign him right now. There is no reason why we signed him to a one year deal.

Man, we've got a buttload of key free agents next year:

Dez Bryant
DeMarco Murray
Rolando McClain
Bruce Carter
Dwayne Harris
George Selvie
Doug Free - same situation as Melton
Henry Melton - essentially a free agent or re-negotiated contract

That's eight starters. When is the last time we had eight starters come into free agency in the same year? I feel certain we really want to keep all those guys except maybe Free. It's going to take A LOT of Jerry's money to keep those seven.

I think everyone stays except Free.
