Cowboys Free Agency...

Dak and dlaw and cooper will be very expensive. Have others they need to sign in the next year or so like jaylon and Jones or they walk.
In 2020 a new deal will be in place that will raise the cap.

We don't even have the money to sign all of our own free agents. What do you think the plan should be?
I think that they have the money to sign Lawrence or they can tag him and they can sign Dak and a defensive lineman and a safety. They can draft a receiver that can replace Beasley. Don't you think that they can do this?

they are planning on signing Dlaw, cooper, zeke, dak...byron jones...etc in the near future... dont think we will be big FA players.

After Dallas gets done overpaying all their own guys it will be back to the blue light specials at the free agent bargain bin.

This.

People need to set their expectations much, much lower in the FA bin.

The spending spree won't be much if they overpay for Tank. I'm hoping we get one or two good DTs and a S. I'd like to keep Tank at a reasonable salary but I'm not confident that's gonna happen.
And you aren’t getting an impact DT or safety cheap either
Free agency is rarely cheap and always a gamble

It looks like the Cowboys have the cap space to sign some free agents. How likely is it that they sign some deline help and some safety help. Some defensive linemen possibilities would be Frank Clark, Dee Ford, Sheldon Richardson, Ziggy Ansah, and Malcolm Brown, Some safety possibilities are Earl Thomas, Landon Collins, and Adrian Amos. Who are they likely to sign and who do you like? If they could get Frank Clark or Ziggy Ansah and either Sheldon Richardson or Malcolm Brown a long with a safety like Adrian Amos, that would make me happy. Is that possible?
Ford is being tagged, and apparently KC is listening to offers. I wouldn't go there if I was Dallas.

I would like to bring Brown in. I think he is an upgrade right now at 1T and still has upside. He wont be a bank breaker. Was a mistake by NE to not pick up his option.

I would like to make a run and Clark or Ansah. Dont know that Dallas will, but with Gregory's suspension we need another DE. I dont want to count on Charlton getting out of his feels, and hoping Armstrong climbs the ladder

It probably will after a lock out or strike
But cap space overall gets ate up by excavating contracts
The total cap goes up, avg contracts goes up

An upgrade to those positions doesn't have to be expensive if we are smart about it. They won't be cheap like we're used to be about it, but we don't have to throw crazy money at them either. It seems Tank wants crazy money. One good DE ain't gonna make our D stout. He needs a good DT next to him to reduce the double and triple teams he faces.

Who are the blue light specials? That is is where the Jones shop. And no way should we sign Thomas and his fragile leg at 15 million per...

We need DT helps but a quality DT is gonna be expensive. Every team basically have the same needs barring a few. Someone to throw, someone to stop the guy throwing
DT is gonna be cheaper than de but most of the good ones are gonna be top 5-7 money though

They want to build through the draft but looks like there may be a player or 2 in FA they maybe interested in.

Only Superbowl teams like the Patriots and Rams sign free agents....

I'm not sure where people are getting we can't even re-sign our own.

By 2020 Lee and Hurns are officially off the books. There's 16mil there alone. L. collins is also a free agent and if they go another route(draft) you can shave a lot off his 9mil cap hit in 2019.

~25mil right there.
Jeff Heath is also a free agent. (2.4mil)

Ignoring any new deals signed this offseason, the Cowboys currently have 9 guys signed over 1mil dollars in cap hits for 2020. With 125mil cap space as it stands now.

They can restructure deals like Martins if need be.

Tyrone Crawford can be cut, which would save 8mil for 2020.
Any roll over cap will boost the amount they can spend for 2020 and the new deals for the draft class of 2016

Etc.
