Free is going to be missed. Another hole that needs to be addressed while our entire defense needs to be fixed.

Fans like to pick on certain players and Free is one of those players.

Free was ok, but you have to admit, Dallas passed up ops to replace him, On that whole line, it was clear Free was the weakest. Its not he was the weakest that bothers fans, its that , thats where he aspired to. He practiced hard, he gave it his all, he did everything asked of him and he was still the weakest. Thats on the FO to not address that problem.

Right, I agree, Collins will reclaim LG and Martin stays at RG.
The team has repeatedly said neither would move to RT. Now that Free will retire, then it may change things, but I doubt it.
green was drafted to push Free, and take over RT. now I don't want to say it's his job to lose, as it shouldn't be handed to him. But is his his job to get first crack at it. Unless they draft an OT high, which I don't see happening.
And Green did fill in fairly decent at times last year when healthy.
I have 100% confidence an ability basis in Green at RT. There is a good chance when healthy he would be an upgrade over Free. Mean run blocker, with the feet and agility to block RDE's at LT. Problem is how many games can you count on him playing?

Oline is the least of our worries. Have you seen ou DLine? Jeff Heath is our sarter at Safety. We got 2 DB's.

OS, Brown, Jones, McFadden, Frazier, Heath, . Not my first choices but this is how JJ and SJ roll now.

Lots of ways to go, they could sign a stop gap guy in free agency, trade for a guy like Cameron Erving for probably a 4th, or draft a guy like Julie'n Davenport in 4th or 6th round. Gotta trust McClay and the plan as it will work out.

Dallas has known Free was going to retire for some time, don't let media fool you.

how many games was he healthy in 2016?

Wasn't health the concern with Green coming out of college?

exactly. he had hip surgery that took him out most of 2015.
he has been available probably less than 1/3 of the games.
how in the world can he be counted on as a starter?
even swing tackle is pushing it.
we took a chance in the 3rd, and it did not work.

2011 - 8 played, 4 missed
2012 - 10 played, 2 missed
2013 - Missed entire season torn labrum
2014 - 11 played

2015 - 0 games played due to multiple injuries
2016 - 4 played, 12 missed.

That's about as injury prone as you can get.

Not so sure about that, sounds like a in the bed decision.

I don't know, rolled over in bed and was like, bye.

well there were plenty of talk of free retiring
how could they have missed that
suspect free gave them fair warning.

Guess they are going to church. Don't know how we would have faith in Chaz, but I guess they did.

We got 7 picks, with so many holes, we could go anywhere with our pick.

Rebuild after 13-3, sounds horrible but we do need the cap space to make Eagle and Giant signings. Dak and Zeke will have to carry us right now while they are young enough to do so.

i think they actually had faith in cleary...
no way any sane person would have faith in chaz
or they are planning a cheap sign in FA in a few days

we have plenty of $ even after the free agent signing - $10M available right now.
we could easily have signed a better RT - but they chose not to.
if more $ was needed, dez and tcrawford have not even been restructured - with another $13M available.

Dude, looks like we are taking a hit this year. If they knew about Free, and did nothing with no plan, it was about money.

RT is a position where the QB can see the guy coming, Dak is young and they are taking a chance to save money against the cap. Not saying I agree, and it puts more pressure on our draft, but I see the reasoning behind it.

Just hope Dak keeps his eyes open.
