I have been hoping we draft a guy and develop him for years now. That is not a shot at Tony, its more of just recognizing that QBs don't grow on trees and developing young players over time seems to improve the players chances at becoming quality starters.
If a guy we really like falls to us in the 3rd its not a bad idea to take him, especially if we think he can start some day. Tony isnt getting any younger and we all know the punishment he has taken the last few seasons. If a guy can learn our system and progress under Garrett and Romo we may be able to avoid another Chad Hutchinson situation when 2020 rolls around.

I agree, I certainly don't want to relive the years between Troy and Tony. That was just a bad joke.

I am doubtful that Dallas will look for a different backup. I'm not even sure that's what Jerry is saying here. He appears to be saying we just need to get better, which Garrett has addressed with his Weeden is still a young quarterback argument.

Jerry prolly thinks under David Wells watch, he can turn JFB around. Browns dont sound like they have their heart set on keeping him.

We already have enough unstable people here in the Metroplex.

I'm one of them... ;)

Simply brilliant insight by this GM. His evaluation skills are really top notch. I thought Weeded did great when he was out there. But what do I know. Jerry is the one who puts in all that time watching the film

Colt McCoy obviously impressived Jerry, we should look into getting him.

Manziel with low compensation and no expectation of stating wouldn't be av terrible trade, and would cement Jerry as a later executive essentially getting martin and manziel. Understudying under Romo would be a very different environment for him here.

Manziel in Uptown Dallas is a disaster waiting to happen.

Half of the pictures of him drunk and high floating on the internet are from there.

I wish Carden had a stronger arm, as he has everything else you'd want. But not even sure he has an average NFL arm, so, hate to say, would have to skip him. You have to at leas be able to make all the NFL throws.

I like Mike Glennon if Tampa goes QB in the draft, which is like 99.9%. He's got some game and a couple years experience. The thought of starting Dallas in a few years might intrigue him.

Would want George Blanda or Earl Morrall -- but they're six feet under.

Would settle for Matt Hasselbeck or Derek Anderson, who are slightly more mobile
