He was just saying that since TO and Roy have been sent packing, some coaches tell him that there's a better attitude at Valley Ranch. Namely, that everyone is a little more on the same page and, maybe more, they realize that they need to be tougher on the players -- or they themselves might well be gone.

He used someone being tougher on Romo as an example, and they all agreed that someone needed to do that. Mosley asked him if that meant Garrett was going to be, and Galloway didn't deny it. So that makes me think he talked to Jason, or maybe John.

He says we don't know for sure what the locker room will be like, because the players obviously haven't been around. But he feels the players will pick up on this improved attitude as they start coming in for the offseason program.

Also says that despite what you hear in the media, plenty of players say privately that they're happy TO and his circus are gone.

Take it for what it's worth. But Galloway doesn't exactly go out of his way to say positive things about the team, as we all know.

CL, does Galloway really have sources who are coaches?

I truly wonder how many of the journalists who cover the Cowboys have real sources rather than rumors that they hear.

That said, I hope Galloway is right in this instance.

The coaching staff do need to be tougher on the players. Hopefully, that discipline will show on the field as well (fewer missed assignments, less penalties, fewer players late to meetings, etc.).

A media member that I trust told me that he knows of at least a dozen players who are quietly celebrating TO's release. On both sides of the ball.

Wouldn't surprise me. I've been saying it since the season ended. There wasn't a coach in the world who could control that circus last year. The best hope was always to work extremely hard to keep it from ever being a circus, and Bill Parcells did as good of a job of that as anyone could have hoped.

Now football is the story. I suspect that sits well with the coaches and most of the players.

And don't underestimate how everyone will take being coached differently now. If I'm Tony Romo, I don't mind being told what I did wrong. But when every mistake is used by someone like TO as ammo in a locker room war against me, I'm going to be a lot more thin-skinned. I'm not going to want a coach to say much to me because I know I've got a guy over in the corner who is just waiting to point out every one of my mistakes to the media or other players...

And if these same coaches are too scared to deal with TO, but they want to jump me, that isn't going to sit well with me either.

Now, the politics of everything go out the window. The coaches don't have to compete with the players for authority and control in the locker room. Players don't have to worry about someone trying to "spin" coaching or a blatant double standard that coddles malcontents and hangs others out to dry.

Hopefully this bodes well for the lockerroom.

Wouldn't doubt some are happy it's gone. I'm glad RW is gone more but I think this will allow the team to move forward.

I hope this is true and we have a much better attitude and coaches get tougher on the players. It doesn't surprise me at all that players are happy that the circus and most of the distractions are gone.

I commend Jerry and his staff for letting Pacman,Tank,TO and to a certain extent RW go..Hopefully some more rookies can come in and play with that "hungry" attitude like Scandrick an Choice.

Sounds like a cue for Greg Ellis to start whining.

Maybe the real reason Ellis was whining is because of Owens and Roy L. Williams.

They are also to blame for the recession.

I was just going to post on Greg Ellis.

We're going into April and he's still quiet.

Could be he's one of those that's secretly pleased that "the player" has gone.

Greg's still on a high. :)

Fixed it. ;) :muttley:

thanks cl.

Sounds good to me. With no one left here who needs to be babied only good things can happen, I hope.

I am working on a video and I was watching some stuff from last years offseason, Most of the stuff guys were saying sounds so silly now.

Good post as usual.

And to Woods, yes, RG does have people at VR who talk to him.

By the way, I truly didn't mean this to turn into a TO thread. In fact, the impression I got on the coaching part was that it was more about Jerry cutting him than about TO himself. I'm sure they knew TO was his pet project and Jerry had invested a lot in him, and they were shocked that Jerry actually pulled the trigger and released him. The fact that Jerry did showed everyone that no one was bigger than the team and that Jerry was dead serious about doing whatever it takes to get this team on the right path.

That's what I think Galloway was getting at, anyway.
