From Galloway -- FWIW

super news, this gives me hope now,

im glad some of the players maybe realize that they may not have a job if they dont step it up

and now that the coaches have to get onto romo to play harder, focus more etc,

this is all good news, may have to rethink wins and losses this year

I'm predicting a great year. We don't need TO. We have plenty of offensive weapons. We've made some good moves on both sides of the ball in getting rid of some stale players.

Good post as usual.

And to Woods, yes, RG does have people at VR who talk to him.

By the way, I truly didn't mean this to turn into a TO thread. In fact, the impression I got on the coaching part was that it was more about Jerry cutting him than about TO himself. I'm sure they knew TO was his pet project and Jerry had invested a lot in him, and they were shocked that Jerry actually pulled the trigger and released him. The fact that Jerry did showed everyone that no one was bigger than the team and that Jerry was dead serious about doing whatever it takes to get this team on the right path.

That's what I think Galloway was getting at, anyway.

When I first heard the news then heard how JJ went to Florida and told TO and Drew it was over, what you just said is the first thing I thought.

That message played a big part in all the releases this off season, And that gives me hope.

Almost didn't open this thread, because it had the word 'Galloway' in the title. Glad I did.

Garrett be tougher to Romo? LOL. The guy has no credibility. You have to have credibility before you can be "tough" on someone.

I don't think there is any doubt that a message was delivered. And as much as I like Roy Williams, I think he was a part of that message as well. I mean, if Jerry sent one of his favorites, a former face of the franchise, and a guy who was willing to restructure packing, he can send anyone down the road.

But I do believe that the whole tenor or that locker room is different now for everyone - coaches and players.

Halle Berry is such a beautiful woman, and yet that's the best pic you can find?

best pick he can post with out getting into trouble ;)

My question:

Since this is the period in the season when most of the players are away from Valley ranch, how would anyone know what the attitude of the average player is?

Not saying Hos or Galloway are wrong. Just seems the information being passed around would require talking to people who are on vacation.

Some players hang around and start their offseason work before the actual date.

Kinda like Romo and Roy working out at VR the last 3 weeks and news that some of the other players have been coming in and lifting weights and stuff.

Not everybody is off on vacation somewhere.

A media member that I trust told me that he knows of at least a dozen players who are quietly celebrating TO's release. On both sides of the ball.

Makes sense. Given that hes making headlines in Buffalo for volunteering at an Alzheimers Charity event instead of working out(Im sure he worked out twice as hard later that day)

And Im sure the same people who are happy hes gone are friends w/ him and will be for years.

Yet Galloway saying there is already better chemistry is ridiculous. Unless the water fountains at Valley Ranch spew Cuervo rather than water, I doubt he has been out there twice since the Eagles embarrassed Dallas in the last game of the season.

I wonder if those guys abstained from celebrating when Owens would score or make a big catch

Just say everything is great because whatshisname is gone. That goes a long way for a story.

CL, does Galloway really have sources who are coaches?

I truly wonder how many of the journalists who cover the Cowboys have real sources rather than rumors that they hear.

That said, I hope Galloway is right in this instance.

The coaching staff do need to be tougher on the players. Hopefully, that discipline will show on the field as well (fewer missed assignments, less penalties, fewer players late to meetings, etc.).

Yes, he has sources among coaches. The media use the coaches and coaches use the media. Coaches try to get messages out to their players through the media. Or, they try to float trial ballons.

Both sides know each other so they merely take advantage of their situation and relationship.
