Wouldn't surprise me. I've been saying it since the season ended. There wasn't a coach in the world who could control that circus last year. The best hope was always to work extremely hard to keep it from ever being a circus, and Bill Parcells did as good of a job of that as anyone could have hoped.

Now football is the story. I suspect that sits well with the coaches and most of the players.

And don't underestimate how everyone will take being coached differently now. If I'm Tony Romo, I don't mind being told what I did wrong. But when every mistake is used by someone like TO as ammo in a locker room war against me, I'm going to be a lot more thin-skinned. I'm not going to want a coach to say much to me because I know I've got a guy over in the corner who is just waiting to point out every one of my mistakes to the media or other players...

And if these same coaches are too scared to deal with TO, but they want to jump me, that isn't going to sit well with me either.

Now, the politics of everything go out the window. The coaches don't have to compete with the players for authority and control in the locker room. Players don't have to worry about someone trying to "spin" coaching or a blatant double standard that coddles malcontents and hangs others out to dry.

Excellent post.

Halle Berry is such a beautiful woman, and yet that's the best pic you can find?

My thoughts exactly. I had been meaning to ask Mick about that. That's not the most flattering picture of Halle.

CL, does Galloway really have sources who are coaches?

I truly wonder how many of the journalists who cover the Cowboys have real sources rather than rumors that they hear.

That said, I hope Galloway is right in this instance.

The coaching staff do need to be tougher on the players. Hopefully, that discipline will show on the field as well (fewer missed assignments, less penalties, fewer players late to meetings, etc.).

Despite popular opinion on Galloway, he has very good sources and is trusted by both Players and Coaches/Front Office of Cowboys. He is little bit old school in reporting. I.e. doesn't break trust with with his sources. He is bit more negative nanny of a cowboys fan, but he is a fan.

He might be hard on people, but he generally is fair. He does get out of hand on his radio show though, but most of the time its tongue in cheek or to rile up audience etc. If you listen to him regularly, you come to understand, underneath it all, he is a die hard Cowboys fan himself.

I'm sure there's players who wanted Owens gone. But, I think it's foolish to assume that player's are on the same page now. Greg Ellis, Jay Ratliff and Marion Barber sure were not on the same page when asked about Owens' release.

That's a big issue for me. The offense had better be pretty darn good next season. If it's not and it helps cost the team games, players that liked Owens are going to turn on Romo (which is unfair since I don't think he had anything to do with it) and Garrett.

FWIW with Galloway...well, it ain't worth much.

Quite frankly, I really think people hunt stories that agree with their line of thinking. On this board in particular, if there is a story posted without a link, there will immediately be several posts following screaming: "link, link!!!". Followed shortly by several posts who accuse the original poster of being a troll, or an outright liar. It's laughable that those same folks will believe ANYTHING that a mediot says...even though it comes from "anonymous sources" or "unamed players". In today's media climate, it is common place for writers to completely fabricate stories...hell, it's been documented in real news, why not sports?? I wouldn't buy anything a mediot says without a name to go with it...especially axe grinders (you know who you are).

A media member that I trust told me that he knows of at least a dozen players who are quietly celebrating TO's release. On both sides of the ball.

Funny. Just like some here on the board... Even though he is now on another team. Let it go people. Why do I even step into this poison ivy?

Yeah... It's not easy to look past these lame attempts to drum up more of the past when we should all be looking towards the future.

My question:

Since this is the period in the season when most of the players are away from Valley ranch, how would anyone know what the attitude of the average player is?

Not saying Hos or Galloway are wrong. Just seems the information being passed around would require talking to people who are on vacation.

According to Todd Archer:
** The off-season program starts on Monday and Phillips said around 30 players have been at Valley Ranch working out before it begins.

I'm flattered.

U should be. You flaunted how right you were and how wrong everyone else was with your nonsense. You refused to listen to anything and you had snotty and arrogant remarks in every post to anyone who posted to you, even people who were being polite and courteous and presenting their feelings on the matter.

SO play it again willie.

I believe I have apologized for anyone who's sensitive feelings I hurt. You saw it too. It's a message board. Grow some hair. Feel free to keep on pushing those pins in your little doll. You're comical. Talk about people having a difficult time letting go... Wow.
