Slater can become the O-Line version of Aaron Donald. Undersized but dominant. Donald was only the 13th overall pick. He also slipped in the draft because of size concerns.

Slater is a short armed tackle who most likely will end up at G on a decent OL. He's no Tyron. Sewell is the better prospect. Best case scenario is a tradeback with the Patriots for an additional first round pick. Otherwise, we need to use one of our 3rd rounders and try to move up a few spots.

You vastly underrate the roster. With the rising young players, incoming FA's and draft picks and Injured players (especially OL and Dak) returning they should win the East.

I am so glad you aren't running the draft. Whenever you preface your draft strategy on NEED rather than acquiring talent that's a big fat fail.
You seem to only see the draft as impacting the following season only with no foresight beyond that.

Draft is about improving your team. Just like if Lawrence was to fall to 10, I wouldn't draft him either even though he is very talented. If you are at a spot in the draft and no pick is there that makes sense, you try to trade that pick and if that fails, then you take the BPA. But targeting an OL or TE in this draft at 10 is stupid. That should only be a last resort if we can't trade out of that spot.

I like many players going into drafts but Donald may have been the one guy in the last 20 yrs where I was just enamored. There were reports from the Senior Bowl of him just wrecking the offense and pretty much dominating. I so badly wanted that pick.

With a healthy oline the offense is very good
We could have hired Rowdy and the defense would have to be some better
If we can get the defense to average we can be a playoff caliber team if we stay healthy

A DT who can rush the passer like him is a very rare
A starting quality QB is more common than a Donald
