Yeah...and in my opinion, all other NFC East teams should draft a punter in the 1st round, I just don't see how they could pass one up, their special teams are deteriorating fast.

If you are drafting players to start this year you are not drafting to win. Now obviously I would take secondary if available, but if he ends up starting year 1 he is going to be a weak link because that is what you expect of rookies and that is why you draft for 2 from now not the next season.

Slater starts day 1 at Left guard and he needs to be the swing tackle IMO until a spot comes open.

If you draft Sewell I think we need to think about moving La'el back to guard and either move Tyron to right tackle or put it off a year and have Tyron stay on the left side this year and Sewell at Right Tackle until Tyron gets hurt or retires.

wasting that on a QB after we just paid our starter 42 million/year for years is completely moronic so when you say we shouldn’t do something we should probably do it

You vastly underrate the roster. With the rising young players, incoming FA's and draft picks and Injured players (especially OL and Dak) returning they should win the East.

I am to the point if they go one of the CB's or OL, or Pitts, I will be ok with it. Not sure about going LB that high. But I am not all that familiar if Parsons or Collins is worth it at #10.
I am all for a trade down no lower than 15, as that can get us a mid to late 2nd round pick based from the point chart.
However, they could get a high 2nd or low 1st if we throw in a later round pick.

As a rule, you play your best 5 OLmen.......drafting Slater at 10 likely means he replaces Williams inside.

Not a fan of taking a college player at one position and moving him to another, then yanking him off that spot and moving him again. Connor Williams was a tackle in college, Cowboys moved him to guard and he's still learning the position...

I for one do not understand the handwringing about Slater "just being a guard".

If I draft an OL at 10 and he never moves out to LT because he's busy getting all pro honors at guard then I am not sad at all.

People take these "rules of thumb" too seriously. TE in the top 10 makes sense if you're drafting Gonzalez. Guard in the top 10 makes sense if you're drafting Martin.

I don't care if you're "just the center", if you're gonna be the best center in the league every year for a decade then you're probably worth a top 5 pick, even though you'll never be picked that high as a center.

Sometimes you gotta throw the guidelines out the window and trust your evaluation and go get yourself a probowler and then sleep well that night. imo.

This is all assuming Slater can't play tackle eventually, which i disagree with to begin with.

It would be easy to get snaps for a OT
Collins was a very solid guard, slide him inside
I’m not as sold on slater as most here are
I’m not sure he’s a tackle and not a guard as his best position and I’m not taking a guard at 10
But with Collins experience at guard it would be easy to get a rookie on the field

So what is the long game for Collins? Is he expected to be the right tackle? If Tyron retired next year would Colins slide to left tackle? Because if I'm just looking at Slater as a right tackle this makes no sense to me.

I would like that better if they traded with NE for the 15 and 46 pick and got Slater at 15. That would be my hope.

To be fair over half the league could win the NFC east if they could swap divisions. I’m looking for a team that can challenge for an NFC championship. I still see major needs at DT, CB. LB is a major question mark, S is a major question mark. O line depth is needed.

I really like a lot about this team, but it gives off a 8-10 win vibe that might secure a playoff spot.

lots of young guys getting better, but also a lot of guys on the back end of their careers.

Either one would start at LG over Williams until they are needed to play T.

I think the cowboys lucking into La’El Collins changed things. If they never had Collins fall to them in UDFA. I think Martin would have been at RT once free retired.

Collins was a gift we gladly accepted. Our big uglies are wearing down. This draft is a chance to upgrade no doubt. We as fans get distracted about who we are and what got us up in the standings. It was Zeke and the OL. Jason Witten was technically a big ugly and had helped block a great deal of help too. We miss a TE who can hurt the defense. That's why I like Pitts if he is within reach.

You know thats not what this staff will do. They will stick with Connor Williams unless he gets an injury and can't go. That's what it takes for this staff to start a rookie over a underachieving veteran. it will be the same OL as last year before the injuries. And that is what Dak will have to deal with. He got paid, so now its up to him to perform regardless.
