Jarius Byrd is on the trading block and can be had for a late round draft pick.

I really like Church and Wilcox but Byrd is a special player. The problem is we cannot sign him to a long term deal due to being placed with the franchise tag and also Byrd has missed the season with injury.

This coule be a win win. We get him for a late round pick and can come in and help Wilcox develop. He will be a free agent after the year so we can make that decision to keep or not then.

Have Church at SS and put Byrd in as FS. Wilcox is in time-to-time as he learns.
Works great in theory. But the numbers salarywise has to work. If it is a late round pick, I would seriously consider it.

yeah but prefer a DE

I agree but I would also offer a mid round pick to Minny for Allen and Williams. Both are in last hear of their deals there and the vikings are not going anywhere this year.

Allen could add pass rush and stop double teams on Ware. Williams can be that 1 gap DT we need to free up Hatcher.

we need help on the d-line but we need help at safety too. if this is true the boys should really consider it. despite people flipping out on here.

Just getting a player that talented for a late round draft pick should make it something the team thinks strongly about.

We need a Dlineman. If we push that "A" gap, it would make things easier for everyone.

If we get him, I'd rather see Wilcox in the game over Church playing SS. That gives you a lot of athleticism back there. JJ seems fine in terms of assignments and knowing where to be. He's not going to get any better riding pine.

$. That symbol right there is the issue with all your proposals.

No its not. Go look at the Monroe and Brown trades. The teams that traded those players paid part of the salary thats left. Also dallas only take on base salary left for the season not any bonuses or past salary from this year.

Money wouldn't be a issue.

Agreed. If a solid d-lineman becomes available, look at him.

But that shouldn't preclude looking at other positions on defense as well. If we can upgrade the safety position, it should at least be considered.

So he missed camp and the fist five games of the season? Think I'll pass.

boy if we could get him for a 6 or 7 rder - I be all for if

The Buffalo News reported last month that Byrd wants out of town, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the Bills might be willing to accommodate him. Schefter was told Buffalo understands the wisest course of action is to trade Byrd, and the team indeed is open to dealing him, according to sources. Schefter was told that trade talks are ongoing

Sorry he so much better than our JAGS at safety

Do you want to rent Byrd?

I don't think we are in position to rent players for a season. We would have to extend him and that is not going to happen. This team would be an absolute mess on defense if we had to give Byrd an extension.
