And if we signed Gronk..

we would be considered as trying to buy a championship.

You can't win.
With many teams that would be true, but given that almost the entirety of the Cowboys starters have been and will be guy’s they drafted or signed as undrafted free agents, and given that Gronkowski would be the first high dollar free agent the Cowboys signed in years, it would be dificult for anyone to claim that.

...Chris Carter?.....ahhh!...No!...

Well, he sounds more right than wrong to me. Just don't see Witten bringing much to the table at this point. Dallas basically got the same production last year with their TE by committee as they did from Witten the last year he suited up.

You just don't get it.

Jerrah wants to give Witten his retirement present.

So here it is..

something for all those years.

Taking bets on how long before Witten is in the Ring of Honor?

Right after the HofF induction.

I DONT WATCH espn..SO whatever. Crish Carter thinks he's the moral compass lol...always on his soap box...he can shut up. Dallas is damned if they do, damned if they don't. The media in general are a pack of wild dogs and traitors.

I really loved Jarwin towards the end last year. He had some good games. Hope this doesn't hurt him.

Why would you use a part time roster spot for a 37 year old guy with zero upside? Seems like a waste. There are some really good young TEs in the FA market with upside that could have been had for the price we are paying Witten. If Witt is not going to be a “go to” guy, why the signing? To me...just my opinion...this is poor front office management.
and eat up 3.5 million when it could be used in other areas.

Why would they fill out their complete roster, then sign him and cut someone that was on the roster to make room for him? Besides, it makes much more sense that they would sign him before the draft so they know their needs going into the draft. At the end of the day, all the reports are that Witten will be a role player - Witten himself said so -why not take his word for it? There is no evedence to the contrary, so why not wait until the evidence is in to judge? You will still have plenty of time to call him a liar if he ends up playing as the primary TE.
Evidence? We seem to love the TE position. Once the Patriots made "11" personel famous and effective, we drafted 2nd TE,s that NEVER developed with "pedestrian" Jason Witten on the roster. His yards per reception are low, his RAC is low, and he is the 28th TE in blocking. What is your definition of a role player? And is this "role player" worth 3.5 million and a chunk of our cap when we just lost 2 players on the D line?

Who the heck is Crisis Carter? :muttley:
Just a play on words.

Cris Carter always tries to drum up some salient point to draw attention to his program.

So I call him Crisis Carter.

Like the Crisis Cowboys.

Its always something.

Take it from Rosanne Rosanna Danna.

You’re rambling without responding to what I wrote. The reality is there is not evidence Witten won’t be a role player because their can’t be - the season hasn’t started. The season is what will provide the evidence. In the meantime, you can’t reasonably call Witten a liar because the Cowboys didn’t use Escobar.

As for you arguing with me about the price, I already said he was getting paid too much, so what point do you think you are making by arguing something I’m not disputing? But in the end, it’s just one year, and it’s far from a huge salary, so it doesn’t have the nearly the cap implications you imagine.

Oh I get it. It's one of the many reasons this team has been a staple of mediocrity in the NFL for the last 20+ years. I'm sure we'll keep Lee at the current cap hit and bring back Beas at 20 mil as well. Not to mention how overpaid Dak and Cooper will be after Jerruh is done dolling out the cash.

Now you have figured it out.

Don't you know wealthy people live by different rules than us bottom feeders?

Now you understand things.

I am not trying to be cute.

It's just the truth.

I lived for years in Palm Beach Florida where all the ultra rich lived.

I worked as a pro photographer then attending their events and taking pictures of them.

They ain't like normal people.

It takes some getting used to dealing with them.
