And even though we all wanted Dez targeted even more last year,he was one the most targeted players I the entire league last year.
You could tell the QB was eager to get his big play guy going.

Well, I don't really see it as a play calling issue. I see it more as Romo scanning the field and going to the open guy. Which is fine in principle but you have to have special rules for Dez. He's an elite talent. I don't care if he's got a cornerback attached to his hip, the guy is still open.
So to me this is more about Romo becoming comfortable throwing balls to Dez that he wouldn't normally throw to anyone else. Going against everything he's been coached and trained to do.

He was doing more of that as the year went on.
Not last year, but not long ago there was legit reason not to trust that Dez would be were he was supposed to be.
Not anymore.

Agreed. The shift in a security blanket for Romo needs to go from Witten to Dez. That torch needs to be passed, IMO. He is now Aikman's Irvin.

He throws it when its 1 on 1. He dismissed Bryant when teams began to put a safety directly over top of him. Romo, more often than not saw this pre-snap and wouldn't look to his side. I don't blame him. I blame the OC/HC for not moving Dez around.

Yeah, he has the size to really anchor the middle against the run. It will be nice to have that if he can be good enough in the passing game and running to the sideline.

- I have somewhat of a vested interest in Rayford. The kid dated my sister-in-law in HS and my wife and I were there when they graduated HS years ago. He's really grown up and alot bigger than I remember. I hope he makes the team, but boy did Martin handle him easily.
