Full Pads Practice: 7/26

If I am not mistaken, Gardner's left pectoral was what was causing him issues last year. Hopefully he did not tear it again.

One thing I noticed about our dlinemen is that they aren't keeping their feet. Granted, this is just off a few vines but if that is the prevailing trend then it needs to be addressed. I'm sure people smarter than me that make lots of many will be talking to these fine young men.

I said it when they signed him. Watch out for Chris Boyd. The guy has some talent. He was going to take over the spotlight at Vandy before he made that one mistake. Cost him millions

The Dez vs Claiborne 1v1 catch.

Good lord!

Damn, nice try by Mo but he has no chance vs Dez

5th and or 6th WR cut will be one of the most interesting ones in Aug. Broaddus said Dez Briscoe looked good also, and Street making the roster is a logical assumption.

not sure if no news on D-law is good. We traded up for him. I know he didn't just go again williams the whole day.

No note on his quickness or nothing....hmmmmmmm

They said he whipped Weems.

Report on Coleman from yesterday:

Notable Standouts:

  • Davon Coleman – The undrafted rookie defensive tackle couldn’t be blocked when the team went to one-on-one individual drills. He gave the opposing backup interior linemen absolute fits with his quickness, and they could barely get their hands on him before he was upfield.

Well, I don't really see it as a play calling issue. I see it more as Romo scanning the field and going to the open guy. Which is fine in principle but you have to have special rules for Dez. He's an elite talent. I don't care if he's got a cornerback attached to his hip, the guy is still open.

So to me this is more about Romo becoming comfortable throwing balls to Dez that he wouldn't normally throw to anyone else. Going against everything he's been coached and trained to do.

Man, you are talking some real sense in here, i rarely agree with you on certain subjects, but you are dead on. Took the words right out my mouth

Dez is a guy we should at least go deep to minimum 5 times a game

Definitely not.

I've seen Dez do that to Revis. That's the thing. That's a rare freak ability we need to feature in this offense. I don't ever want to hear how an opposing team took Dez Bryant away from the offense. Only Tony Romo can take him away and I can't even fault Romo for it. You're not supposed to throw to the covered guy. Dez re-writes the rules, IMO. You can't treat him like the other receivers. You'd be underutilizing him.

This guy....

Killing it in this thread

One nugget from Fisher over on the other board. Apparently neither Randle or Ryan Williams particularly adept at picking up the blitz.

McClain is going to be a nice pickup for us....
LOVE this quote:
“This is a great opportunity,” McClain said. “You only get [so] many chances in the NFL. So the best thing I can do is take advantage of it, work my butt off and try to make this team and be the best I can be.”
