The person was clearly reaching for the railing before getting on the escalator. That suggests to me they were fully aware and not delusional. The person 'understood' the function of an escalator. The question is WHY did they attempt getting on one?

That's what makes it so funny to me. The exact reason why no one takes a wheelchair on an escalator without someone behind them is exactly what happened. That's so stupid, I did wonder if it was staged but it still made me laugh several times. I just did again coming to this post.

I am wondering if I need to add a category to the Darwin nominations? Handicapped.

Yep. Probably will not do another one like that for awhile. I kept making small errors creating the progression frames for the gif and it was bugging the heck out of me.
