The human? I thought the dog was frightened by the other dog when he turned towards him after knocking the deer down.

What would I do if I was that afraid of the other dog? Find a new place to stay I guess.

The person probably thought it would be extremely tender, and didn't want to hurt the dog. I imagine the dog was limping a bit, just because it felt weird. What surprises me is that the dog didn't eat it. Lol
