Future negotiations

The easy solution is to act now, pay those guys market value as it stands right now, and move on.

But the Cowboys love to wait around and wait for other teams to reset the market. It cost them more money with Dak. It cost them more money with CeeDee. And in Micah's case the cost went up so high they decided to trade him.

Players play for money and the chance to win a Super Bowl. There is no upside to playing in Dallas compared to other places. Look how much it took to keep Dak Prescott from leaving. Agents are not going to lighten up on Jerry.

Fans need to get over the corny attitude that somehow their favorite team is the guys on the roster favorite team. They’re professionals. They play for money.
Exactly. They play for money.

No income tax. Huge brand and market exposure in Dallas. Lucrative opportunities in Big D after your football days are over.

There are a TON of financial reasons beyond just the contract why players would NOT want to be traded from Dallas.

Now that JJ has established he will trade a premium player if things get to a certain point, future negotiations will favor Dallas

I agree with this premise but the agency still made several million more dollars by playing it this way. They’ll continue to put profit first. It’s up to the player to mediate and make sure the agency is working for them, not the other way around.
They may make more on a single deal— but if word gets around they are putting themselves ahead of their player’s desires, the agency will find players will look elsewhere for representation and wind up losing more money over the long haul

But that's the market value!!
Oh it wasn't you're trying to tell me that Prescott 60 million was or was it overpaying and reaching and outbidding yourself you remember those nonsensical words that pops up around here no they blew the lid off the market they overpaid it's insane how much money they paid him and we'll all say it but you can't wake up and see it it only takes one mistake to overpay a player and they did it..

Prescott probably should have got 56 million but he got 60 he was not worth 60 million that's so far four years down the road market that it's insane...

Trey Hendrickson had 17 1/2 sacks last year and settled on 30 million that's the market Green Bay severely overpaid and they're just crossing their fingers..... For me that one time there was a $100 million contract given out to a nose tackle he may have even been a three tick can't remember his name but he stepped on people's faces he did all this stuff but you know what happened he never became that player just because 1 team makes a mistake doesn't make it the market..

These clowns saying Micah was greedy because Jerry said so ........... lapdogs.
I despise Jerry but let's not pretend Micah was innocent.

Remember last year when Micah said "I don't have to be the highest paid defensive player?" What happened to that? Dallas offered him in excess of $40 million per season and his response was to pout, fake a back injury to get out of practicing, and take naps on the trainers table while dozens of his teammates were fighting for their NFL future.

The Cowboys matched the Green Bay offer within $1 million (Nick Eatman)

There are also a ton of reasons why players might want to leave i.e. escaping the dysfunction and winning a SB.

good Try there's no such thing as matching an offer that's lowered if their bid was lower and by the way I don't agree with it at all they did not They're offering ever went over $43 million..

They never matched it because they bid less It was never happening they forced their way out it's over

Now the enemy if you're cheering him on in the Green Bay Dallas matchup You'll be the next one up my feed that's for Dang sure.bye.

Are you saying the Packers are winning the Super Bowl this year or are you putting that in writing?

I think they'll be in the mix for the next 2-3 years. Micah going thete gives them a edge over the Eagles.
