Just say no to drafting any defensive player with our first pick in the next draft. Get another stud OLineman, grab a DE in the 2nd then concentrate on ST players and more rotational guys. Can always go FA for more defense if needed.

It is clear that a dominant line controls games, they just wear the defenses down. Keep drafting offensive lineman early to keep a stable OL for years.

Lets keep this run identity going and add defensive players as they come along.

Whether they decide to keep Murray or not, Randle better be here for awhile.....I like his game. I am not sure he can carry the load for 4 quarters but he is a nice back-up.

Sign/draft a good DE, fix the ST's and maybe get a new returner....that is my shortlist. Oh, get a new punter too.

So far, two of the three phases are coming together :)

I can't say I agree at all. For one, who would the dominant stud 1st round pick replace? Leary is set, Free is playing well. Why mess with what's broken? I'm not convinced some rookie will come in and outperform Free. And there are two lines on a team -- the offensive and defensive. Why not bring our offensive philosophy over the past 4 years to the defense? Let's build this D-line.

The right side will need to be replaced, sooner than later. Lets not wait too long this time. They can build the D line from picks 2 to 7 and FA. What if Fred, Martin or Smith go down? Would be nice to have an able body to step right in.

You follow what we've been doing for a while and make our board and stick mostly with it. Take the best player regardless of position and you usually don't go wrong. If its a DLineman great. If its a OLineman, great. If its a CB, great. Use the draft to get talent. Use FA to address holes.

Thats a similar approach to what Jones did for two decades on the offensive line

either kick martin to right tackle and select a guard or draft a right tackle because I doubt Free is back next year....after that draft defensive ends, safety, corner and linebacker

i dont know if the team sees Martin as a tackle,he hasnt practiced one snap at RT and he has even practiced at center which tells us something.

I would bet Martin could replace Free tomorrow and he would never be missed. We have no depth in the line, we are looking at a different team with an injury or two there.

I'd guess we have better depth than many. Bernadeau isn't great, but he's a borderline starter in the league. Most teams don't have that on their Oline. Any team in the league is looking at problems with multiple OLine or DLine injuries.
