I could not disgree more. the cowboys have tried it your way. and it has not worked. it's time for people to start speaking up about being screwed by these refs.

I've played in alot of organized sports in my youth and if it was one thing the coaches REPEATEDLY said was under no circumstances do to criticize or PO the refs because it ultimately hurts the whole team because they will react to it..usually, when it hurts the most for your team.

I don't think you do this in any professional sport..even tennis anymore, because it's all electronic line calling and to argue with the computer is fruitless.

The refs make mistakes in the pre-season just like the players. What you don't want to do is have them have 'bulletin board' material on you or your team for later.

And believe me..they remember. Knew a couple whose kids who played with me in HS basketball and their Dad was also a ref in our area and he could change the course in a game in a moment.

Doubt it's any different in the pros.

The only one who should speak about bad calls is the head coach..and he should do it very, very carefully.

While I agree 100% that we were raped by the refs last night, it does no good to call out the ref. All this will do is cause more BS penalties next time we get the same officiating crew.

It is concerning why we are public enemy #1 to the refs nowdays. The Giants were getting "home cooking" in Texas Stadim for crying out loud.

What the hell is up with that???
That game at Texas stadium was a disgrace. the Giants got every freaking call.some of the calls we are getting in these games are flatout unreal.and it's time to call out the NFL on this.

..we were the disgrace. We had every advantage going in and should have swept the Jints out of Texas Stadium and won a SB.

We didn't show up at all for the biggest game of the year. Yes, some calls didn't go out way, but so many had all season up to that point, we didn't deserve anymore..we had used up our quota.

We just needed to play like we wanted it, instead of playing not to lose it.

That was the disgrace. Not the refs.

All I can say is, so far..we sure aren't playing with 'chip' on our shoulders for losing it all last year.

We'll see.

Sorry Red, I have to disagree with you on this one. We did not play our best game for sure, but there were several calls that the NFL confirmed were incorrect (like the intentional grounding on Romo with no defender near him).

The Giants got every freaking call that game, including calls that the NFL has now admitted were incorrect.

To say that did not affect the outcome of the game is simply not true. If that game was called fairly, we win.

Which is it? The Cowboys play or the refs? Post after post of how this team sucks and now you're playing the Ref card? C'mon, man.

Gurode should have snapped the ball and not stood up. Bradie had no business piling on. He even lowered his shoulder on the guy. Just stupid penalties.

And Crayton needs to keep his mouth shut. Doubt it bothers the refs but who knows what else he'll say.

Crayton didn't quit on that route.

This guy's going to speak his mind each and every time a microphone is put in front of him. Personally, I'm starting to find it pretty amusing b/c I enjoy watching people get hacked off by the guy's opinions. Clearly, he doesn't care about fan perception in this regard. Clearly, the doesn't agree with some here that there's an imaginary performance line he has to cross before he speaks up. He's slowly gaining cult status with some of us.

I'm watched the game/play in slowmo, Brady tackled/hit the guy with his right upper thigh in a sliding motion, no shoulder or helmet spearing, nothing to warrant a personal foul. Brady was also in a downward sliding motion before the runner hit the ground.

Now here's what's really messed up, the field ref (the one that stands beside the inside backers before the snap) was no more than 2-3 yards from the tackle with no one to obstruct the view of the tackle made at the 13 yard line. You can see his flag in his left front belt. The flag thrown came from the backfield area where Ed Hockngoobers was standing in the back of the endzone at least 20 yards away. That flag was thrown by a ref no where in the vacinity.

The personal fouls should of been called when TO was getting mugged that same play they called Columbo for unnecessary roughness and the previous play before this play, see my detailed slowmo recap on page 4 of this thread.

Your right about Gurode, he should of snapped the ball but it still doesn't change the fact that the defensive tackle was "still in the nuetral zone" when the ball was moved.

Our boys have a target on them for other teams, the refs and the media. Nothing new here, it's just life as a Dallas Cowboy.

Yep. He was already committed to the tackle before the whistle blew. Very bad call.

I do think the Colombo penalty was a good call. Really couldn't tell if the whistle had blown and have seen a lot worse not get called, but from what I saw, it appeared to be after the play.

The main thing that bugged me about the Columbo call was the fact they had just let them pile on TO the series before and now. when Columbo is trying to protect his teamate from a pile on - he gets a penalty .:bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Doesn't matter what it looks like to us. If you look like you're piling on esp in a game with that kind of stuff going on the refs are going to start calling it to get control of the game. No reason to hit a player when he's already on the ground. It's stupid. The best thing that can come of it is nothing. The worst is a penalty. That's the kind of thing that can cost a game. Undisciplined nonsense.

And we do have a cross on us. It's not the refs. I'm sick of listening to this crap about the refs being on us. That's an excuse. We are getting everyone's A game and it should bring our A game out.

Your right about the "undisciplined nonsense", but that's not always the case. If you take time to examine these plays in question, you can see the fault in these calls.

I know every team in the league gets bad calls against them, but have you not noticed the excessive amount that our Cowboys draw. Justified penalties are one thing, but numerous bad penalties that affect the outcome of a game is totally different.

Stating the obviuos not that it will ever change, welcome to the Dallas Cowboys.

PC was spot on with his assessment but this is the time he should keep it to himself. The zebras are a vindictive bunch and I won't be surprised if they try to retaliate in some form.

Maybe we should take our zebras and mix them with the other zebra herds in Africa. Then see how they like the games the Lions/Bengals/Panthers/Jaguars call on them. :D

It would be more helpful to the fans if we knew about some kind of quality control going on.

I think preseason would be a good time for that to be known to the fans.

We know that the late hit types are a lot of times very subjective, but as a fan I want to know that when they screw up and offside call like they did that there is someone reviewing each crews game tape and calls and calling their attention to the details and the calls that were missed. This could be made known to the fans through a site on NFL Network where you could go in to each game reviews of the Officiating crew where a quality control was done. Then they would have an explanation of every call that was made and right or wrong the basis for the call.

This is training camp for the players - it should be the same for officials - they get paid enough. With the scrutiny the NBA has gone through the NFL would be wise to show some kind of quality control system on their officiating crews.

They really need to be held accountable.

The NFL has a huge problem if Refs have, need, want or use "bulletin board" material.

..to speak out and be venting..but I'm old school about it and I've never seen a change in how refs handle things. If they blow a call, they know it and usually look the other way to even the calls out for the other team.

Again..I don't think Crayton needs to be opening his mouth, he's proven nothing except he's a basic 2nd or 3rd string WR who is benefiting from TG injuries and now being cut..

..and he needs to play and not get the spotlight on this team to add even more pressure to this team.

Frankly, this team has consistantly folded under pressure for the last 10 years and despite 13-3, I really don't see this team getting past 10-6 this season and having a dogfight the whole way.

The lucky bounces and the fumble recoveries that this team road all the way to the playoffs isn't going to go our way as often this year and there are not going to be anymore Buffalos this season. Or over the head hikes that are going to be recovered 40 yds behind the LOS and advanced for 1st downs. Or Romo's fumbles in the pocket that get kicked right to Columbo. Those are used up lucky breaks.

The quicker everybody understands the Eastern Division goes thru the Jints and not us..as well as thru the Eagles and Commanders..the better off we will all enjoy the season.

What I see right now is that in the offseason, the media has handed this team a free pass to the playoffs and beyond based on Pacman and this draft.

And so far..as a team, they look fat, slow, not hungry and confused a bunch out there and and these new coaches have their work cutout for them turning this bunch around.

We'll see.

Oh yeah, the refs do have a memory. Trust me.
