I'm not sure how many of you actually know anything about football. JJ was a pretty decent back this year for us. Do you really think Barber can carry the full load? I doubt it, as he showed more or less when we played the giants a few weeks back. Barber is a great powerful runner but no one in the world can do that for 20 carries/16 games. He needs a fast spellman and JJ was perfect for that. I'm sad to see him go and can only hope we can get another serviceable quick running back somewhere. I'm sure JJ is asking more than what he's worth, but that doesn't mean we should be happy to see him go. We'll see how many of you are singing the same tune this time next year.

If we do trade Spears (I still doubt this) I would move Ratliff to LDE and use Fergy and Tank as the NT rotation.

I could live with this. Definitely want Fergy's attitude back in the locker room.

Wasn't Jason Ferguson having a monster training camp?

Cowboys running back Julius Jones, who is an unrestricted free agent, is not expected to return to the team next season. His agent, Ken Kremer said Jones wants to become a featured back ...
You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true.

Good news on Fergy he's very solid against the run. Jones who cares about the guy is dead weight.

here is hoping that JJ signs with Denver, runs for 2,000 yards and we get a sweet compensatory pick!!!

Apparently Mr. Kremer believes there is a bull market for pile-magnets.

Also, he thinks that there is no recession in America and believes in the tooth fairy.

I wish Julius well. He seems like a nice guy and I can't ever remember him coming out and stating he was pissed with how things were.

I hope he gets a spot somewhere.

I think he might have gotten too big. Just too much muscle.

Sucks because his rookie year, every time he touched the ball, I got that feeling he might break one big. Now I just pray for him to get 3 or 4 yards.

Oh I completely understand. Just saying, we (cowboy fans) always hold ourselves to a higher standard than that...and yet we do some of the same things. Go figure.

I agree. I wasn't stating how I feel, just what has happened in the past.

I don't think any player should be "Booed" by the home fans. It's pathetic.

You mean Fergy's agent doesn't know yet that Winicki is cutting him? ;)

JJ wants to be a star running back, problem is he is just average. I loved the guy when he first got here. He just isn't that good. MB proved that.

I really have no ill feelings at all towards julius. He is a good person and a hard worker. He just has struggled here.

I feel for the guy, he comes out of the locker room to stretch every week and he gets booed, in his own stadium...barber comes out a few minutes later and people are tripping over themselves to call his name, get his picture and cheer.

I cant imagine how difficult that is, and through it all he was still giving his full effort on the field and remained a class individual on the sideline and on the practice field.

I wish him well. Who knows, maybe him and flo will end up in Denver together next year.

I defended the guy up until the 3rd or 4rth game of the year while many said we should have traded him 2-3 years ago when he was actually worth something. I was wrong and it has nothing to do with feelings. And didn't he give up in the Buffalo game and pout? He had one good game this year against the Pats and they yanked him, maybe it's the coaches..

Great to have Fergy back.

JJ is an emigna, he was not good at making something outta nothing, but given a crease he hit the hole as fast as any back I've seen. Would have been nice to see him run with a HH line that actually may run block.

Barber looked great this year because he was able to make something outta nothing.

Why we pounded JJ up the middle so much I can't figure out ?? I was always screaming for us to setup plays that would better ultilize his speed...But oh well, water under the bridge. We'll need a speed back to replace him. Looking forward to a HH coached O-line.
