Julius Jones' status

Cowboys running back Julius Jones, who is an unrestricted free agent, is not expected to return to the team next season. His agent, Ken Kremer said Jones wants to become a featured back and said his client will field some ``very strong offers'' in free agency from other teams.

The Cowboys have made it clear they are headed into next season with Marion Barber as the starter. Barber made his first start of the season in the playoff loss to the New York Giants.

Also, nose tackle Jason Ferguson expects to be fully recovered from his torn biceps in time for the start of training camp in late July. Ferguson was injured in the season opener. His agent, Jimmy Sexton, said ``he'll be back and ready to go.''

No, he won't. You'd have to actually be given a "very strong offer" in order to field a very strong offer.

I feel for the guy, he comes out of the locker room to stretch every week and he gets booed, in his own stadium...
I didn't know that. Sounds like something a Eagles fan would do.

The Fergie update lends even more credence to us shopping Spears.

Ratliff - Fergie - Canty as the starting line with...

Hatcher - Tank - Bowen backing them up. I could live with that.

Well I sure as hell hope he'd be ready. He's already had about 5 months to recover and rehab.

Featured back? For who, the Edmonton Eskimos?

It would be nice to have Ferguson back. Along with Flo, he has been my biggest question of the off-season. Would he be back or not?

As well as Ratliff played last year, I would like to get that additional bulk back in the rotation, and I think Ferguson is a guy who brings some leaderhip and other intangibles.

Yeah that is a bit tacky. But then it's no worse than the abuse he gets on here, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

No one should be surprised cuz fans actually booed Aikman when he'd walk out on the field towards the end of his career.

If Aikman can get booed, dang near any Cowboy in history is fair game.

Not that I agree with that. I never booed Aikman.

Oh I completely understand. Just saying, we (cowboy fans) always hold ourselves to a higher standard than that...and yet we do some of the same things. Go figure.

I actually enjoyed one of your earlier Julius debates, it was very well done.

every single week. I am always embarrassed to be fans of the same team as some of the people I hear yelling at the stadium, particularly the grief jones gets in pregame.

Not one person cheered for him against the giants when he came out to stretch.

The same people were cheering to get pictures of Tom Arnold a spare part actor who was walking around on the field wearing a giants hat. Figure that out.

Honestly, I don't much care for many of the fans at Texas Stadium, thats just me though.

Yeah, its just nice to see someone stick up for a guy who doesn't get any respect.

I thought JJ couldn't run cause of the OLINE/Parcells was holding him back.

But after having all these "pro-bowl" linemen, and in a new style of offense where the coaches just want you to get yards any means necessary, JJ just isn't very good.
