DALLAS _ There is no movement in the trade talks to acquire Pacman Jones from Tennessee, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

"It’s pretty much just floating out there without much energy or activity around it," Jones said Wednesday.

Jones is in Dallas attending the SMU Athletic Forum luncheon. The guest speaker is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Pacman Jones said on The Michael Irvin Show on ESPN radio Tuesday that he would wait until he’s traded before seeking reinstatement to the NFL.

However, Jerry Jones said he’s not confident that Pacman Jones will be reinstated by the league. "Not at all."

"It’s going to take more than just talk from Adam to get on the field."

I just commented in another thread how we need to just get this thing done. Now I read this:confused:. Let's just make a final decision one way or the other. Either we will acquire the guy contingent upon his being reinstated or just forget about it all together.

I firmly believe Tennessee is dragging their feet because they didn't appreciate the enthusiasm PacMan exhibited in his desire to move on to the Cowboys. His interview on the Michael Irvin show may have rubbed the Tennessee brass the wrong way.

I now believe their is a concerted effort on the part of the Cowboys to downplay the acquisition and reinforce the idea that the Cowboys are the one's taking the risk, they aren't "stealing" PacMan and PacMan isn't benefiting by his bad behavior.

JJ is saying the exact things you should say when trying to make this deal.

It gives the Titans some doubt that that Pacman will be reinstated. Maybe JJ is trying to force them to move on this current offer by stating this? ;)

Good luck drifting past me. I never wanted the deal, but was resigned to the fact I may have to accept it.

Rather obivous that Jerry is just talking noise now, trying to plant something. Best to listen to Jerry with earplugs on right now.

No need to rush anything. Jerry's been here done that. He'll pull the trigger if and when he wants to.

Fans crying for some kind of resolution need to take a chll pill and just let this run it's course

Exactly. This is a tactful quote. Genius. He offers this quote at an event where the Commissioner is as well; leaving Bud Adams and the Titans thinking, "Sounds like Owner Jones knows something we don't know on the siuation. Take the deal."

The conclusion to this inevitable anyway.

These comments from Jerry tie in very nicely with the Tim McMahon blog regarding this being a game of Texas Hold 'Em. Jerry is devaluing Pacman by making this statement at an event that the commish is speaking. It basically amounts to him telling Bud Adams: "You don't have much but we will give you something just to take him off your hands. Here's a sixth or the #28 pick in the 5th."

Who knows?! Maybe some reverse psychology for Mr. Goodell? You never know what JJ is up to, just that he's up to something.

I'm in the same boat. I don't like the ideal of getting him but resigned to the fact of accepting it at least until he gets arrested again. :laugh2:

Stephen Jones stated this morning that "it has been implicated to them that he will be reinstated" check out the recap from Trick in the Daily. This makes no sense for Jerry to say this.He is playing games.

We all know that.

It was a serious pimp slap at Bud Adams.

Well, I guess all those rumors we reading about for last 2-3 days meant absolutely nothing. I'm not going to even read any more Pacman articles telling us the latest news. When/if it officially happens, it happens. That's it.
