Injuries are a part of football. Almost never is a player held responsible for a season-ending injury.
What is the player's responsibility is to dedicate himself and his off-season to coming back in better shape than ever, which is why Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams and his
failed conditioning test is unacceptable.
What was he doing this off-season? Does he really care that little about what coach Bill Parcells thinks about him? Doesn't he know that just such a failed test added further fuel to the fire between Parcells and former Cowboys lineman Larry Allen last season?
Beyond that, though, is Flo's seemingly lackadaisical attitude since his first year under Parcells. If you will remember, he had a great year and Parcells came into camp before Year 2 talking about how he thought Adams could turn himself into one of the five best players in the game.
Instead, he has gone the other way.
He had a disappointing 2004. He was injured in 2005. And now he shows up for 2006 unable to pass a simple conditioning test. Am I alone or does this pattern drive anybody else nuts as well?
