Man I wish Parcells never made that "anointing" comment. Every time someone dares to praise anything about a player now it gets thrown out there.

The guys in OTA like what they've seen in Weeden so far. Simple as that. A positive thing.

It's a wonder to me why guys must put turd in the punch bowl .
I guess it shows their sage football wisdom [in their mind]
We all know it's OTA's .

When a guy does well in OTAs.... "DNA ANNOINT HIM!"

When a guy does poorly in OTAs.... "CUT HIM HE IS A BUM!"

You guys are silly.

Yeah, I guess it would just be too much to ask to wait and see what he can actually do. He is starting his 3rd season in the NFL at the hardest position in football, there is a possibility that he could improve.

Regardless, it's good to hear some positive reviews.

Wait until the bullet start flying before anointing Weeden. He has always been considered chalkboard smart, mature and has the arm talent. It is his behavior in games when pressured that drove him out of Cleveland.

Dude Weeden doesn't have to be all world, he just needs to be a couple notches better than bus driver and this offense can rock.

He's coming into a perfect offensive situation with the mighty o-line Garrett built and a whole bunch of weapons.. You can almost plug in anybody and they'd have success..

He never had it This Good in Cleveland...

Well, that's what Jerry gets for signing guys to longer contracts. Orton found out how to play Jerry from the
Rat fiasco last year. The clipboard carriers are naturally lazy bums that can't play for other teams.
We need to be more like New England and get a new backup every year. Besides, if Romo goes down we
are done anyway.

This must be sarcasm or you dont know much about back up QB's.Now if you said less talented aka: Jason Garrett well OK.
We have have back ups because their needed and love playing football. Not all of course.

Name 10 of them them.

To get this started there are at least 3 starters that could be supplanted Weeden...excluding Hoyer.

Ok leaving off Hoyer/Manziel I'll say Moore,Mallet,Garoppolo,Vick,Hasselbeck,Campbell,McCarron,Bortles,Osweiler,Freeman,Cousins,Gleenon,& Hill so actually 13

I'd bet he would make Starters Henne, Locker maybe Fitzpatrick, Tannihill and certainly Geno Smith a little too nervous. Okay more than three...

Palmer and Cassel aren't exactly all-world either.

Agree with this but if Jason Garrett has done anything as a coach it's tame Romo to the point where he spends most of the game trying not to lose.

If he has a turnover problem id bet on it getting fixed. He'll be a robot in no time.

For the games Weeden started last year, Gordon was out. Just something to consider.

I don't agree with most of this names you offered. The obvious ones are the rookies.
Some are better.

You see those INT against the Packers or the Lions? Garret sure as heck hasn't stopped him from throwing when he cannot see the underneath coverage.

Our OL started to 'gel' around that first Giants game and the Raiders game because we could run the ball. On third and long we still only picked up the stunts and blitzes maybe half the time and Romo was pummeled.

By the Bears or GB game, he was acting like he had the yips and would throw the ball away when he would see any pressure especially over LG but even then he would throw into coverage and was erratic with his accuracy. Him being like that was not coached though. At least I really doubt that is the case.

I'll wait until I see him in actual games. Hopefully he'll be better than he was in Cleveland last year. From the games I saw, he looked awful.

I don't see Witten as the type to talk up players if he doesn't believe it. I could be wrong though.

Also that doesn't mean I believe he'll be good, but I do believe Witten and Linehan when they say he's looked good so far.

We have have back ups because their needed and love playing football. Not all of course.

There are some backup QBs that are lifers at it. Players like the Titans Charlie Whitehurst or Panthers Derek Anderson for example. Given opportunities to start and could not hold their jobs, now they are playing out the string content to hold a clipboard for whatever team is willing to pay them to do it.

There are quite a few backup QBs across the league that are deliberately chosen for the fact they are non-threatening. I do not think they are necessarily lazy, but I certainly will not consider them ambitious competitors who want to "be the man".

I'm optimistic for him.

Still...Very similar offensive talent in Cleveland and Dallas except at QB. Last year, you can throw in RB too because Trent Richardson and Bobby Rainey don't equal Murray.

Cleveland had great Oline, ours got pretty good as the year moved on.
Cleveland had NFL leader Gordon, we had Dez
Cleveland and Dallas had Pro Bowl level TEs...though Cameron had the better year slightly.

However, the Cleveland defense was 9th and we were 32nd....massive difference with field position and game planning.....so actually easier there last year.

This year could be different though.

I don't know, Cleveland was 4-12 last year. Your stats make em sound like they won 10 games. How well did they run the ball?

Yeah, the issue was so-so to poor QB play and a bad run game. That's why they dumped trent Richardson last year and why this year they added Ben Tate via FA and Terrance West via the draft.

I don't think you'll find one person anointing Weeden. lol

I've seen two reports that he's doing well running the plays from inside the pocket, notsomuch when asked to be on the move. He loses a ton of accuracy when doing that.

True but so do s majority of QBs... Fortunately our Oline can/ should provide s nice pocket

So why does everyone say they have a good o-line but couldn't run the ball well? Not being able to run the ball causes problems in the passing game and sometimes vice versa, makes them one dimensional..
