GAC: Garrett in for second Interview

So, were they joking about both parts?

Or is he in for the 2nd interview?

Garrett is 40 years old. It's not like he's new to the NFL. It might not be a bad idea to bring in someone fresh and that has a lot of ties to the Cowboys. IF this were to happen, how about Mike Singletary for DC? Obviously we're not going to get Rivera or Ryan to move from DC with their current team to the same position with the Cowboys. We'd most likely promote a defensive position coach to DC.

Rivera's contract is up,, and he only makes 500K a year,, Jerry can triple that if he would come to Dallas as the DC.

I doubt very seriously if SF would give us permission to talk to Mike S. And if we are going to go with a 4-3 guy, go with someone with some experience as a DC, that would be Rivera.

Im a big fan of Jason Garret and believe he can be a great NFL head coach but you dont hand a guy who has never called the plays the keys to the Dallas Cowboys.

This would be a major mistake and a bigtime downgrade from the coach we had before.

Why would you hire an OC prior to an HC? Wouldn't an HC like some say in the staff vacancies? I think so. It looks like if this is more than rumor that Garrett is the man, why the hell not at this point, Dallas is a coaching carousel just like the rest of the league.

Gary Kubiak was once a backup quarterback to a legend, Garrett atleast went to Princeton instead of A&M.

What about Mike Quinn for our assitant head coach/offensive coordinator?

He went 1 for 1 for 10 yards as our 3rd string backup QB in 1998.

Nah ... overqualified. Nevermind.

well...if its true, hope it works out for the best...

but I just cant believe somebody would entrust the entire team to a 40yr old assistant coach who's nevr put a game plan together or called a play...I know Garrett is probably real bright and may be an up and comer, but this seems a little fast

I was really hoping Norv Turner, Wade Wilson or even Dan Reeves would at least be to tudor Garrett a little more

will be really interesting to see how this plays out

David

reports say he is being considered for the OC...I seriously doubt its HC. I think Galloway was joking on that

Second interview is no joke. That's supposedly really happening right now.

But the part about Garrett being named tonight was a joke, or at least a half-joke, by Galloway. He was saying earlier that after 10 vodka-tonics, Jerry might name any of them head coach. (They're doing a remote at a DFW restaurant/bar for the NHL All Star game with a Stars ex-player.) Then later he made the joke about Jerry starting happy hour at 6:00. :)

You mean when that senile old fart boobs who doesn't have an original bone in his body or thought in his mind was our head coach ably assisted by a series of yes men?

Signed

GROP

In short, yes.

Galloway was joking about Jerry and Happy Hour, but Garrett and Jerry went into the conference room for a second interview session about 30 minutes ago. Galloway says that Garrett is a friend of his from back in the day, and doesn't necessarily have a problem with him being the coach.

Right now he was talking about the NHL All star game, but an update is upcoming on ESPN 103.3. Gosselin up next to discuss it in next segment.

Thread in the other forum and numerous reports all over the internet have been discussing Garrett as HC all day.

We do however, have a deadline with Garrett of Th. So some sort of signing tonight might not be that unrealistic

Yeah.
