*sigh* I was talking about SPECIAL TREATMENT(not the regular treatment), which Werder ellaborated on.

What special treatment?

Do you mean to "soak it in cider"?

OK-I really don't know what's the big deal. We put together a BEAUTIFUL long drive for most of the 2nd half, and did the same in the 3rd quarter-all but 1 of the throws from Romo were of a BEAUTY.

Since then, just EVERYTHING broke down-whether it was pass protection, the lack of blocking/missed assignments, dropped balls, etc.

Again, sorry-it may have gotten re-injured, but it didn't seem to affect him.

geez the extreme only people...

it's not simply one OR the other - it's more of one THAN the other. hard but can still be done. will suffer on some passes due to the injury and be ok on others.

is that ok or is the world really that black and white?

Exactly. He made far more good/great passes than bad ones. Like the Fasano drop which was knifed by the defender. Or the other passes that were dropped, or brought back due to penalties.

When that play happened I wondered if Romo got hit on the thumb. I didn't think much of it during the rest of the game.

I'm watching the game again on NFL Replay-it was on 3rd down on the Boys' 1st possession/2nd series-yeah, he got hit on the hand, but I saw NO wincing in pain, NO Romo tending to his hand, etc.

To me, this story is BS. Werder seems like he has nothing to do on his hands.:bang2:

I have no idea if Romo hurt his thumb or not, but I do know two things:
1. He would never say it and use it as an excuse.
2. Actually this can be true that some throws are perfect and others are ducks. I posted on this exact problem after the Philly game.

Having had a serious thumb issue (torn ligament from a hockey injury), it can absolutely cause the jekyll and hyde throws. The problem is that you don't have good feeling for the amount of pressure the thumb is applying. Sometimes the the pressure is fine and the throw comes out perfect, sometimes not so much. The pain is manageable, but you can't predict how the thumb is going to release from the ball because you really aren't sure how hard you are gripping it.

And yes you can play golf with it. The thumb's participation in a golf grip and swing is totally different that gripping and throwing a football.

Yep, and that 2nd to last pass of the game to Patrick Crayton was right on the money.

Was his thumb hurt? Maybe, did we lose because of it? I highly doubt it.

If people are indeed blaming this loss on the thumb, it would be even worst then some folks saying that we overacheived this year  .
