FRISCO, Texas – Forget the cliché about one year making a world of difference – what about eight weeks?

It got lost in the shuffle of a painful season, but a switch seemed to flip for Neville Gallimore at the midpoint of his first season.

The rookie defensive tackle had played 120 snaps and made one start to that part in the 2020 campaign. Over the second half of the season he'd become a regular starter, making eight starts to go with a substantial increase of 296 snaps.

In a season marked by mishap, it was something to build on – not just for the Cowboys, but for Gallimore himself.

Hill went down and we cut Poe. Gallimore was simply the only credible option left for 3T.

Otherwise it was Woods and Crawford. Woods was waived. Crawford mercifully retired.

Gallimore was all we had left. So he got lots of snaps.

I'm buying what you're selling. So much so that I now refer to Neville Gallimore as Sir Gallimore as in one of the Knights of the round table. We need more Knights! Maybe soon we'll have a Sir Gregory or Sir Lawrence at the round table as well.

I could see him taking the next step
He showed flashes last year.

Good luck Galli.
I want our players to kill it and make the team have hard decisions.

Gallimore was all we had left. So he got lots of snaps.

And we tried this offseason to create some competition for those 3-tech snaps by signing Watkins and drafting Odighizuwa and Golston.

Odighizuwa may already be a better run defender than Gallimore, while Watkins could be a better pass rusher (if neither player progresses from who they were last season). Golston's a wild card since he's a run-stopping end who might be a better pass rusher from the inside.

I hated our DTs in February. I only mildly hate them less now.

Pathetic how those morons in the front office continue to dismiss real holes that matter.

One of the reasons why we will never get to an NFC championship game . Jerry values this position so little he wont even gamble his usual injured , addicted or headcase second round pick on a dominant DT prospect

Sadly, I can't even remember the last dominant defensive lineman of the Dallas Cowboys.

Odighizuwa seems more of a 3-4 end. Not big enough for 3tech, particularly for run defense. That's Tyrone Crawford all over again.

We've gotten a lot of bargain basement dline help this offseason. Looks like they're trying a scheme based on unconventional, and hence cheap, roles. Maybe it works.
