I did this for the past several years. Usually get blasted from the usual suspects if we lose. But that is expected. I think it's funny anymore.
Anyway.

We beat the Giants, Philly beat Washington. Who do you think looks best after game one. Of course it is hard to gage things after one game.

Philly looked good and bad at some things. I think Wentz overall looked good for having to scramble and made plays. Was this from Washington D playing well, or Phill'y OL isn't really as good as they claim. Washington made a lot of mistakes too. It was hard to get a feel how these teams will be.

Dallas - NY game, been discussed by other threads, so no need to repeat things on my OP.

So without a doubt IMO we looked the best. Will revisit this after a few more games. We know the O will be good, and get a few things more consistent. Dak needs to settle down a bit, and he will. But will the D play as well again. I think they can, and will get better. They will have their bumps though.

Hard to say exactly who's top dog in the NFCE after one game. But it certainly isn't NY or WAS.

I visit the Eagles forum to troll them after they lose/we win and everyone there thinks they played the best and that our win wasn't impressive

It's a long season. Only thing that matters is looking best when it ends.

Division is going to be a dogfight because it always in.

Agreed, this is going to be a long season. I do recall the Eagles starting off well last season and then fluttering mid season (I expect the same this season). The Giants offense looked horrendous last night, however they are usually slow starters. If we stay healthy, I think we win the division.

The Philly/Wash game was much closer than the final score indicated. Washington was denied a chance to take the lead in the final two minutes because of a completely blown call where the replay official must have fallen asleep. Washington's offense looked better than the Giants but not much better. Neither team could run the ball.

Right now I'd say we and Philly look like playoff teams when the Giants and Washington look like teams that'll come up short. However,it is very, very, very early in the season and a lot will change.

If Dallas' big guns stay healthy, I have a hard time believing they are not the best team in the division.
Giants #2
Philly #3
Long season for the Washington.

I watched the NFL.com high lites of the Phill/Skins game and from that and the score I'd say Philly
looked pretty good. Their defense did some scoring.Thats going to be a nervy match up especially
with all the Wince love from you know who.

I am more concerned about the Eagles than the Giants the rest of the way. Giants like I said are way overrated, and their down fall will be that horrible offensive line and running game. They are going nowhere this year with their offensive problems. I laughed at Giant's fans at their forum that said they would be averaging 30 points a game this year. They sucked last year on offence, and this year have they really improved? They signed a washed up Brandon Marshall, whip de do da. In the end we are winning the East don't care about the others. Our defence will only get better as the season gets along. Look out we are coming!!!

these were division games, only fan within 24 hours dont understand that. This can prove the NFCE is back to domination and we all just beat on ourselves or only after 1 game, its a two team race. I dont think the Giants are near as bad as they looked last night every team looked sloppy. As good as Dallas was on stats, our coaches were bailed out last night. If something was working Linehan got away from it. Sloppy play by some players and forcing the ball to Dez was stupid. When other players are making plays, roll with that hand until they stop you. Beasley was eating them up.

Staying in the NFCE, its just that, a tough division. every fan knows this and every team, no matter how banged up steps up to play. Beating the Giants wasnt about going 1-0, it was psychological. Our QB really needed this win.

Maybe Garrett doesnt get offical stats from the NFL, but someone needs to tel him and Linehan you have the best RB in the NFL, use him.

Phillys defense looked pretty good yesterday. The offense not so much. But Wentz is pretty good. Just hate that guy for that team for some reason, he seems like a good guy!

They're loving how Wentz looked yesterday up here in Philly, but I think they're creating some things that weren't actually there. His athleticism is clear. He's really tough to get a hand on and will dance out of trouble in tight spaces in the pocket. Very impressive. The arm strength he showed on the TD to Algholor was also impressive: he was off balance after dodging like 3 tacklers and launched it.

Now for the bad. I think he dances in the pocket too much, doesn't settle down enough. Maybe because he doesn't trust his line (getting to that after this)? But I always like when a QB drops back and doesn't have happy feet in the pocket while going thru progressions. He hops around a lot when he doesn't have to. I think his overall decision making is questionable. He'll throw some balls that he absolutely should not and it's kind of confusing. I don't know if it's him trusting his talent too much or what, but he tries to force things a lot. Compare that to Dak. Dak hardly ever throws an intercept-able ball. Even his off throws tend to sail high or be way low, but seem to generally be where if anyone is going to catch it, it's going to be his guy - not the other team. Wentz threw about 5 should-be INTs yesterday, just trying to force the ball or make something happen when nothing was there. Like last year, it will cost him against better defenses (the Skins D is trash).

The Eagles o-line was rated above ours on two prominent lists (PFF and someone else - i forget). It's clearly not better. Collins will be a better RT than Johnson by year end. Smith, Fred, and Martin are the best at their positions. The Eagles line didn't look particularly good yesterday.

I don't see the Skins making noise this year. Cousins played poorly yesterday. They don't have a RB or a good group at WR. Line didn't look great but Eagles' front 4 is best in the game. Their defense is, as I said, trash.

While the Eagles have a great front 4, the rest of their D is underwhelming. They have one LB who should actually have a starting NFL job (Hicks). Bradham and Kendricks are backups at best. Their secondary is OK. Jenkins and McLeod are good at S, but they have NOTHING at CB. Darby went down for the season yesterday, but even with him, they aren't good. Without? YIKES. We have way more talent and depth there. It's not close.

I really, really like our squad this year.

History has shown that many times, the team who wins the NFC East is not the team who starts out great or even by winning. I know it's a cliché, but it's reallly too early to tell who has the best team.

I really wish the season would start with two non-division opponents first, then dive into the divisional battles slowly.

I really, really like our squad this year.

Wentz, for his arm strength, is not a very accurate deep ball passer. He's a true gunslinger ala Favre, etc. He made some spectacular plays yesterday but also he made some questionable throws. At least three passes hit DBs in the hands and if the WR hadn't made a play, they would have been interceptions.

Eagles OL is not better and never was. Peters is still effective at LT, but older and as you saw yesterday, he gets nicked up easily. There are some whispers up here that Lane Johnson hasn't been the same player since he got off the "supplements". He was OK when he came back off suspension last year but was pretty blah during preseason and was just OK yesterday. Their interior OL is overrated. They struggle at run blocking.

Their defense took a blow yesterday losing Darby. Their CBs were just OK when he was healthy so if he's out 6-8 games (that's the most recent report - dislocated ankle and if the MRI shows no ligament damage, he could be back in 6-8 weeks), that's a big blow. Their DL is legit. Their LBs are a bit better than you give them credit for.

Dallas has faced arguably the best defense they will face all year, the other three teams cannot say the same.

Eagles are a few easy Cousins passes from sitting in the cellar.

Their defensive front is stout. Meh for the rest of the team

I went into this season expecting the Cowboys to win the East. As for the other teams hard to say. I was not overly impressed with Eagles\Washington game but we will see how they progress as the season moves on.

I agree after watching the entire game I came away with Ron Darby injury is going to hurt Eagles in the secondary, the eagles defensive line is very good, the eagle offense is still a work in progress and the RB situation is average in Philly. Washington has some players who let Cousins down with some drops, Norman looked as good as always. Both worthy opponents for the boys.
Before the season started I thought we might be at the bottom for passing defenses nfc east, I currently think we are at least third and maybe second behind the Giants.

I think Philly is solid, but hardly spectacular.

I don't see them running the ball on us. If you make Wentz one dimensional he will make mistakes.
IMO-we can out punch them.
