Don't get all the Wentz love. Guy threw a pick six, which he now has more in his 17 game career than Aaron Rodgers has in his entire career. Also saw Josh Norman drop an easy INT on a badly underthrown deep ball. Looked good at times but equally bad at times.
The pick 6 was called back because of a questionable block in the back.

Didn't we hear this just about every week last year...the next big test...

GB, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Minnesota. Some even said TB, and the Eagles too. All defenses that were to stop Dak and Zeke...
Just a thought, but how did that turn out....
No, I'm not saying that.
I'm asking you if you think two of last year's highest rated defenses and two everyone generally consider the best this year--Denver and Seattle--are now not as good as the Giants' D. In other words; do you think the Giants have passed them up?
Just an honest question about your opinion on this.

I personally think the Giants are in for a long season.

They have a very tough schedule and an offense that is going to sink them like a lead weight.

I think Dallas and Philly will finish 1 and 2 in the East.

Good question, and hard to answer. I think Denver slipped some last year. Norm Hitzges thinks the Giants D is a SB D. But he has slipped in the past several years also...LOL.
I think Seattle will be better than both with the addition of Richardson. all 3 very tough, but I think we can handle them well enough. The key to winning will be how can our D handle their offenses.

Not concerned with Denver's offense as much as I am Seattle's. Not until Denver gets good and consistent QB play.

yeah.
I think if we're talking defense only; New York, Denver, Baltimore, Seattle, Houston and possibly the LA Rams all have Super Bowl caliber defenses.
Luckily most of those teams are highly flawed on the other side of the ball. :muttley:

Wentz made me angry yesterday.... at the Browns. If only they drafted him!!. He is going to be a good one.

You think?

As stated clearly, I don’t know. I’m capable of objectivity, but I haven’t given it much more thought beyond “meh, unimpressed”

And I won’t.

I did this for the past several years. Usually get blasted from the usual suspects if we lose. But that is expected. I think it's funny anymore.
Anyway.

We beat the Giants, Philly beat Washington. Who do you think looks best after game one. Of course it is hard to gage things after one game.

Philly looked good and bad at some things. I think Wentz overall looked good for having to scramble and made plays. Was this from Washington D playing well, or Phill'y OL isn't really as good as they claim. Washington made a lot of mistakes too. It was hard to get a feel how these teams will be.

Dallas - NY game, been discussed by other threads, so no need to repeat things on my OP.

So without a doubt IMO we looked the best. Will revisit this after a few more games. We know the O will be good, and get a few things more consistent. Dak needs to settle down a bit, and he will. But will the D play as well again. I think they can, and will get better. They will have their bumps though.
Eagles/Skins was the JV game of the division IMO. Talent wise I dont think those two teams are on par with either Dallas or NY.

Dallas played like a SB contender. NY played like a playoff contender. I give them credit, they seemed overmatched in all phases but still hung on for most of the game. Thats still a good team particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

The Eagles and Skins looked too erratic. Eagles could be legit down the road, maybe even by 2018 but they just arent there yet. The Skins have the talent of a fringe playoff contender but they could be in turmoil with the whole Cousin situation

The Philly/Wash game was much closer than the final score indicated. Washington was denied a chance to take the lead in the final two minutes because of a completely blown call where the replay official must have fallen asleep. Washington's offense looked better than the Giants but not much better. Neither team could run the ball.

Right now I'd say we and Philly look like playoff teams when the Giants and Washington look like teams that'll come up short. However,it is very, very, very early in the season and a lot will change.

With the GIants Oline they are going to have a hard time making the playoffs.

Washington is not the same without Garcon and Desean. They were robbed of a chance to come back with that call.

Wentz played well and will be the key to whether they have a sucessfiul season.

We played the best on both sides of the ball. Nobody has even close to a balanced attack like we do.

I saw that fumble call. ***? I hate both teams, but that was unbelievable. How can that call be justified in any universe? Huge call - for those who say officiating doesn't affect the results, I say BS.
