Anyone doing anything different or have a special way of cooking the bird or special sides? Ours is pretty typical this year.

We ordered prime rib from a steak house for takeout.

Everybody else is getting in on the Turkey. Fortunately for me my wife always does a ham as well. Along with my other peculiarities, I'm just not big on eating birds.

Smoked turkey, wild rice and cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, and for dessert bourbon maple pecan pie... All served with copious amounts of bubbly!

It is just my wife and I this year. Nonetheless, we decided to go all in with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

The normal Thanksgiving fare. Nothing special. Wish we would have gotten some Delia’s tamales to add into the mix but didn’t think that far ahead since dinner is at my sister-in-law’s house.

In addition to Turkey, dressing and traditional Thanksgiving dishes, every year for the last 30
I set up my smoker and smoke salmon.

I brine them overnight in brown sugar and salt. That draws out the extra water. Then I smoke them with alder wood for about eight hours on low 165 degrees or so. At the end I might turn up the heat so they are cooked enough.

Got a nice sized bird this year. Second year in a row that my mom is joining us, so it's imperative that she brings deviled eggs and banana pudding.

There are only 4 of us. Usually we host for 25-30. Not sure how I feel about that.

Turkey, smoking a little ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn bread casserole, brussel sprouts with pancetta and pomegranate seeds (that’s my specialty), pretzel salad, and green beans.

We ordered pies too. Dipped into those last night. That would never happen. Collectively we will gain 15-20 pounds. Leftovers for a week.

Stuffing and gravy too. How can I forget that. Stuffing is probably my favorite.

Can eat 20-30 of them in one sitting. Probably one of my favorite foods.

Traditional for us, even though no one is coming over we are making turkey, ham and chicken and sausage for our kids to pick up. I may try and drink some crown or jack, this recovery has taken longer than expected
