Garrett appreciation thread

First, as I’ve said since the day we drafted him I will never stop my criticism of Zeke or his contract Personal feelings aside, I would say the same thing of any RB who sat out with 2 years on his contract and demanded to be paid the highest at his position. I would also laugh at any team dumb enough to pay a RB that much money, complete waste.

If you can’t give Garrett any credit for out coaching McVay then how can you say he got out coached when we lose?

As I just said, if professional athletes making millions of dollars need a coach to motivate them then they should go play for someone else, that’s pathetic. Did you ever play sports, especially football? Did you need any more motivation then trying not to get beat by the person in front of you? That’s called pride and it’s disgusting and unfortunate that we have grown men that need to be motivated to do their job on national tv that they get paid to do. I seriously doubt some of the all time great coaches needed to motivate their players, that’s why they do their due diligence on draft day, find the guys that have pride and want to play the best they can without having add extra motivation. I sure as hell didn’t need a coach yelling in my face, telling me motivational stories, etc or holding me accountable to do my job to the best of my ability. Pathetic if those are the types of players we have on this team.

People making millions. That is an envy statement. You harp on salaries and that leads right back to envy.

What you did or did not need as a player doesn't matter.

Jimmy Johnson read psychology books to pull the right string to get players to play their nest. He treated each player differently.

The 1992 season, Dallas was in Denver. The defense was in a famous strip club in Dallas on Thursday afternoon. In Denver they played against Tommy Maddox instead of Elway. The defense was lackadaisical and was player poorly. Haley was not on his game. At halftime Jimmy pulled Haley into the toilet and flushed it and told him this was his career if he didn't start playing hard.

Dallas won the game.

I keep hearing from people that players don't need motivation. That is diametrically opposed to what they need. Someone intimidating them into playing thei best.

The Rams were actually one of the hottest teams in the NFL coming into Dallas. We won b/c we were able to run the ball and Goff couldn't grip a football. McVay has already lead his team to a super bowl a feat that has alluded Garret his entire coaching career. So, Garret got him yesterday. Yay for us.

The problem is this: Do you have any idea which cowboy team is showing up next week? The one that played yesterday or the one we've seen that previous 3 weeks?
And here in lies the problem,

You don't know which cowboys team is gonna show on any given Sunday

Why not? A 90 million dollar purse carrying punk diva who held this team hostage until he was over paid gets an appreciation thread for showing up in ONE game (mainly due to the O line) yet has lost us games and cost JG his job because he couldn’t handle the work load or hold on to the ball but JG continues to get bashed.

Garrett just schooled everyone’s favorite coach, one of the few they constantly reference when talking about hiring a new coach. Everyone can point to a few coaching decisions in each game that allegedly cost the team a win or loss but rarely to the players, especially fan favorites or golden girls like Zeke, get the blame. We were put in a position to win against NO (another coaching guru) and who cost us the game when it was on the line? Hint: it wasn’t JG yet he received the blame. Crucial 3rd down against the Bears, who took himself out of the game because he couldn’t handle the work load that he demanded to be paid for? Hint: it wasn’t JG.

Point being, like most games this season, McVay was out coached last night. The difference is our players finally did their jobs, pretty amazing what happens when they do what they’re paid to do, huh? I’m not saying JG should be extended, he’s been here too long, let him be the scape goat for another team, but lets give some credit where credit is due which isn’t a RB who demanded to be paid the highest at his position for doing his job behind the second best O line in the league a few times a season.
good post...i agree

Garrett sucks. But I appreciate that he sucked little less yesterday and let Zeke and Pollard run wild instead of being pass happy.

Lol, I promise envy has nothing to do with it. I love my job, I could make more money if I wanted to do but enjoy doing what I’m doing. There are few people I envy in this world and professional athletes would never be one of them.

I envy parents I know who have an autistic child and everything they’ve done for that child, I envy the child as well for their view on life and overcoming challenges. I envy the people who work or volunteer most of their free time to non profit organizations. Hell, I even envy people that have more self control than I do (not hard to do). I envy the guy that lives in a one room cabin in the middle of nowhere who doesn’t have a tv or neighbors and is almost totally self sufficient. The list goes on but overpaid divas aren’t even on my envy radar, nice try though.

Great players Need great coaching.

Simple concept.

“Great players can’t overcome bad coaching”. Bill Belichick
No but these alleged great players can't be coached certain things. They can’t be coached speed, power, overall athleticism...things that a lot of people over estimate with this team.

If your not convinced by now that Garrett needs to get fired than you never will.

You clearly don’t put much value in coaching.

The wise person will put his/her money on the bold part. Never trust Garrett or his incompetence.

give the players some credit, please. they play the game. if they suck, we probably lose. if they play well, we probably win.

Does the head coach and his staff get the team prepared to play the game? Poor preparation leads to poor performance no matter how good the players are!

Garrett sucks & so does your post!

Or Garrett and Marinelli were forced to stay of out the coaching and let Kellen Moore and Kris Richard have complete control...

They didn’t out coach them. Out coaching shows up in the last 2-5 minutes of a ball game when a coach is really needed. Garrett is the worst in that time frame.

If your not convinced by now that Garrett needs to get fired than you never will.

You clearly don’t put much value in coaching.
Did I ever say Garrett doesn’t need to go? Find one time this year where I have said that and provide the quite or shut your mouth.

You clearly don’t out much value in accuracy, just spew your verbal diarrhea to try and prove a point.

The same Kellen Moore and Richard that people were in love with after the first 3 games but were continuously bashed almost every game after that until the Rams?
